...and it was pretty awesome. It definitely got my mind off things, especially considering...well, I've been having some difficulties. Leftover anger issues, one could say. But the film I saw with my group was really good. Basically, it's about a girl who has to put her life back together after she loses the use of her legs in a car accident. It was really sad in parts, but also really well-done. Great characters, great dialogue, great everything, really.

Also going with someone from the group to the movie DJANGO UNCHAINED. My dad's a little uncertain about it, but I'm interested in seeing it at any rate. At least from what I've heard.

And that's my day thus far. How are you guys?

Had a really good time at the local anticipating-Christmas party -- especially chatting with some people I met about things like THE HOBBIT, BATMAN, STAR WARS, what-have-you. Also got to discuss stuff like Lucasfilm being sold to Disney and whatnot, and some of us hoping that even if the STAR WARS EU wasn't directly adapted, we'd still get Mara Jade in somehow (which I definitely hope so too, because I've been dying to see Mara on the big screen for quite a while. :) She's awesome. :3). I know that someone actually suggested Karen Gillan to play Mara should she get in there, which I love (for those who haven't watched Doctor Who, Amelia Pond: http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mayxs09hyK1qbo8l4o1_1280.jpg). Because Karen Gillan is a wonderful actress, and I think she could portray Mara very well with a lot of depth. Mara's a very complex character (half of why I adore her. :3) and I think Karen can do a lot with that. :)

Also got to geek out about Amelia Pond, which was also awesome. Honestly, the only thing that was really sad was when it ended, because it meant that it would be a while before I got to see them again (although the New Year's party is rolling around, so there is that. :). Also got to talk with my Mom a bit about Anakin, screenwriting, etc. on the way there, which was nice. :)

So all in all? Had a good time. :3 Really glad that I went there. :)

...and I have to say it actually went pretty well! :D A few missteps, such as going to the wrong period when I was supposed to have a break and everything (not helped by the fact that I was already pretty tired. I didn't get much sleep last night, ugh!), but other than that, it went pretty well. :) The teachers are nice, the other students are nice, and I generally felt pretty at ease there. *Hopes rest of the year goes just as smoothly*

Happy 35th Anniversary, STAR WARS! :D

Feeling a tad better. A bit stuffy, but definitely better than I was yesterday. Which is good. :)

Currently feeling really crappy, stressed, and behind. And tired. *Sighs* And there are still six days to go...

Seriously, if this day could be struck from the record, I'd be grateful.

ladyofleithian: (anakin lonely)
Currently exhausted, cranky, depressed, behind, and wishing the weekend would just *arrive* already. *Sighs* Not exactly what you'd call the best day. Although, thankfully, English class was a little smoother than last time (let's say you don't want to know what happened last time).

Completed my AOTC icons. *Sighs* I'm tired -- and for some reason a little sad. (Hell's wrong with my moods?)

And a song rec: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aeVHM1IoNyQ.

If any of you have watched BEAUTY AND THE BEAST on Broadway, you'll know this song well. Let's say John Barrowman absolutely nails it, IMHO. It helps that he has a damn awesome voice. :) I still have a soft spot for the original version by Terrence Mann, though:

It may take a while for some to get used to, but it's awesome nonetheless. And considering how the Beast is supposed to be a very dark, brooding character, it's fitting. Let's say both versions rock, really. They both really make you pity the Beast, perhaps even more than the Disney version -- and considering what an awesome job Robby Benson did in the original film, that says volumes. :)

And now, off to write. It's been a long while.
