For the prompt "Isolation". Also came about thanks to my own sort of feelings of down-ness, for lack of a better word. So I decided to go back for Halloween 5. This is from another one of my favorite scenes -- the attic scene where Michael unmasks for Jamie. It's sort of a divisive scene amongst the fanbase; some people love it and find it really moving, and some people hate it and find it kind of cheapens Michael's character (mostly thanks to the fact that he's really supposed to be more of an abstract than a person -- an abstract idea of evil, really. Think sort of like Palpatine, really). Me? I kind of like the scene a lot. I can understand where the detractors are coming from, but at the same time, it's well-acted from both Danielle Harris and Don Shanks (the guy playing Michael at the time), it's well-scored (seriously, the music is just gorgeous), and...well, it's just overall very well-done. (That and the transition from hating the bastard villain to feeling kind of sorry for him/her is kind of a trope that can't help but get me every time. If done well, that is, and most of the time? It definitely is)

And without further ado, the artwork. (Also, sorry if I'm annoying my f-list. And if the quality is kind of rubbish)

For the prompt "vulnerability". Also because I finished watching Halloween 5 (pretty damn good movie, really. I'll have to crosspost my review of it from my Tumblr to here * soon), was having a lot of feels, and decided to make something. It's sort of based on one of my favorite scenes in the movie, when Loomis sort of meets with Michael in the Myers house and tries to talk him off the path he's on. It's very well-done (good acting, good music, great suspense, etc.), and it kind of brings a bit of softness for this Loomis considering his Knight Templar behavior throughout the film. And it brings an interesting new side to the Michael-Loomis dynamic (not that there's anything wrong with the dynamic they had in the original films, but seeing this is pretty interesting).

(Also, I apologize for my crappy text use. Trying to improve, really)

* Yeah, I know that sounds a little strange, but I've been having some reviewer's block, shall we say.

Title: Facing Fearful Odds

Summary: In the early months of the Year That Never Was, Harriet Jones continues to endure.

Prompt: Unexpected Consequences

Disclaimer: Sadly enough, I do not own DOCTOR WHO.

Warnings: Dark themes, and getting Harriet's voice wrong, no doubt.
And rusty writing skills.

Author's Notes: Title from Thomas MacCaulay's "The Lays of Ancient Rome", from the poem "Horatius": "And how can man die better/Than facing fearful odds/For the ashes of his fathers/And the temples of his Gods." Also known as the poem Mr. Jefferson quotes in "The Impossible Planet" after Scooti's death. Considering "Last of the Time Lords" in general and how passionate Harriet is about defending Earth, I thought it was very appropriate.
