So I've got 3,755 words so far (also, Jesus), and it helps that I'be been doing some skipping around, actually. Got a bit of the villain's perspective on things, and though I may have to tone some stuff down in the rewrite, it was definitely interesting getting into his head. I figured I'd do that just because some of the bad guys in the Van Helsing Hate Crimes trope (e.g. some of the bad guys in the Kitty Norville books -- and granted, I could be wrong; I'll probably change my mind when I read the books) come off as kind of one-dimensional. I figured I'd give this guy a worldview and a reason for his actions. And change things up a bit.

Also, wrote my first crime scene! That one was tough, but doing some research...it's not perfect, but it's definitely giving me a bare outline for what I have to do. May have to go over stuff in revisions to make sure that my crime scene is accurate and all. Like if there was anything I missed. And wrote the beginning of my main character, Diana, waking up after being captured by the villain. Let's say things are going to get interesting.

Currently, I have 1,812 words, and those weren't easy words to get, believe me, especially considering how I was worrying about them coming out right. It's original fiction this time, and very much outside my comfort zone. It's a supernatural horror story, and it involves a young woman who's raised by werewolves. As a human, not as a werewolf herself. It was one of those ideas that hit me and I had to do it. Any werewolf aficionados around here...I definitely welcome your suggestions.

Currently at 60,877 words. And I did it. I won. *Sighs in relief* That was definitely a hard write, and there are some things that I don't know if I'm proud of, but I can look them over come revision, hopefully. Taking out unnecessary words, making sure things make sense, things like that. I did it. It's been a wild ride, and I am going to miss Mara and the gang, but I did it. (Thinking next NaNo of focusing on original fiction, just to give it a shot. It'll be interesting. And hopefully I can do it as well as my first fanfic NaNo back in 2011) I definitely hope, come tomorrow, that everyone's going to be satisfied with the final installment, and it'll be a satisfying end to Mara's adventures.

Currently have 58,612 words. *Rubs wrists* Ow. Ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow. Good news is that I'm nearly done, bad news is that I'm not sure if all of what I've written is good (then again, that's what we have revision for, I guess). I didn't really do all of the action scenes because I didn't want to rehash Return of the Jedi too much (I mean, one can watch Return of the Jedi if they wanted that) but I did try and do the best I could. Final scene I write before I'm finished is the Endor speeder bike chase which...wow, it really is like what you'd do when shooting a film, isn't it? I'll just be grateful when I'm done and ready to rest.

Currently have 57,003 words now. *Rubs wrists* Jesus. Anyway, wrote the scene where Leia first meets Wicket, which I enjoyed writing; I've always loved Wicket. He's one of my personal favorite characters, just because he is really fucking adorable and awesome. Mostly really intimidated about the battles and all, but I guess I'll just focus on what really, really matters -- namely, a bit of cutting back to destroying the shield generator, a bit of Lando and the space battle, etc. Hopefully I'll have plenty of time tomorrow to actually finish all this. (And when this is all over, I am probably going to focus on something much, much more smaller-scale, because Jesus...)

Currently have 55,042 words today. Jesus. Anyway, finished up some more of the ending; mostly intimidated by the idea of filling in some of the battle scenes and such, may God help me on that. Still, I can probably do it. Probably. Wish me luck!

Currently have 52,998 words. Jesus. Started up on another part of the ending -- Mara's log, more specifically. Still hoping that the ending...well, ends on a satisfying note and all. At least I have some idea as to where exactly my destination is and all.

Currently have 51,809 words. Probably not much, but for now, I'm mostly focusing on filling in the gaps. Not really happy with how the Ewok scene turned out (thanks to most of our Force users being on the Death Star following through on their Batman Gambit) but I will admit I still got to get some of the witty camaraderie that was part of what made me love the scene in the original (and some musings on why, from Han's point of view, Threepio would be a crappy god, and Owen's sarcasm about being sacrificed to his protocol droid), which was a plus.

Currently have 51,196 words. Have parts of the ending written, which is good. And some good bits in the ending -- also good. And I better get some rest -- there's been something going around and I'm worried I've caught it. I probably haven't, but just to be on the safe side, I'm going to bed early.

All right, I've got good news and bad news. The good news is that I've got 50,135 words and wrote a pretty good Padme-being-tested scene back on the Death Star. The bad news is that I'm nowhere near finished. Still, I have plenty of time left to finish, so there is that. I'm just hoping that people like the finished product and I don't fall victim to Final Installment Syndrome (basically, a word I made up on the spot for final installments that people find not as good as the preceding ones, stuff like Return of the King and Return of the Jedi managing to avert that syndrome).

Currently have 48,500 words. *Rubs wrists* Jesus I wrote a lot. And wonderful news -- I got over at least part of my writer's block regarding how-is-Mara-going-to-stall-in-time-for-Lando-and-co-to-save-the-day. And I wrote a lovely scene regarding Terminus where he gets thrown a bit of a bone for his troubles after all that's happened to him. I'm just relieved that I managed to resolve at least one part of what was bothering me so much -- which is fucking awesome

Kind of stressed myself out with math problems, so I'm thinking tomorrow I might catch up on my NaNo. I know, I copped out, but I have class tomorrow and I think I might have fucked up my sleep schedule a bit. May update tomorrow. Sorry.

Currently have 45,028 words. Nearly to the end. Admittedly had some writer's block on the Piett thing, so I decided to go over to Endor for a while instead. Still, I think I did well with Han's internal monologue as well as just Threepio recapping things to the Ewoks. By the way, sorry if it took a while to post an update; let's say that LJ was being difficult for a moment. Anyway, better get some sleep.

Currently have 43,603 words. Jesus. Anyway, thought that my writing of Palpatine's death in this version was a bit anticlimactic (then again, I don't know how you can top being thrown down a reactor shaft), but I thought the reactions afterwards were pretty good, as well as possibly having to stop Piett. I'm thinking of it kind of in terms of Salem's Lot -- Palpatine (or the Barlow character) is dead, but his servants still have to be dealt with. And hopefully, I can wrap everything up in a satisfying manner. And of course, deal with everything before that.

Currently have 42,214 words. Jesus Christ. Anyway, I'm doing pretty good -- I'm nearly there, at any rate. I still have a lot of ground to cover, of course, but I think that everything's going pretty well. Elaborated more on some of the post-Bespin angst and the bonds between the crew (which I think are definitely the heart here of Before the Dawn, We Are Legend, and this. It's really the bonds between the crew that are one of the things that make it all so wonderful to write), and wrote a bit of the ending -- which is something! Actually having an ending in sight, or some semblance of it. I admit I've been angsting a bit about how to resolve the ending to make sure it doesn't come off as a disappointment (as I may have said before, writing the final installment is a bitch), so having some semblance of an ending is a relief.

Currently have 40,018 words. Nearly to the end, really. Anyway, had a pretty good session, I think -- I had some fun in the rancor pit and elaborating on certain things (unfortunately, there are plenty of things about Jabba's palace I have to flesh out, because, well, what can you do, really?) and exploring the sort of horror aspect of it, especially since when you look at it, Jabba's palace and the rancor pit is kind of like a horror movie. Jabba's palace may be my least favorite sequence in the film, but I admit that the rancor fight scene was really well-done, especially the tension of opening up the gate to reveal the beast, as well as the dark, kind of claustrophobic nature of it. Now that I'm older, I'm really starting to appreciate it more. (Funny the things you start to appreciate when you get older)

Currently have 37, 377 words. Jesus. Anyway, I did a bit of the intro-to-Endor thing as well as Mara's near-fall on the Death Star, because it is pretty interesting, though I do admit, I'm worried about getting Mara and Piett out of character. The Emperor, not so much; it's pretty creepy that I managed to get the Emperor kind of down pat (then again, Ian McDiarmid's performance is pretty easy to nail down, it's almost as iconic as Vader himself). I'm interested, at least, as to how everything's going to end up in the end and how the characters are going to get out of this one. And I definitely hope that the story turns out good, of course.

Currently have 35,223 words so far. Ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch! On the bright side, I got to resolve the Jabba's sail barge scene, drop some clues about Han and have a nice moment of character development for Chewie that was actually quite touching, but still...I am never writing that many words again. God.

Currently have (holy shit) 31,697 words. (Ouch) Been doing pretty well so far -- trying to work out the logistics of the duel with the Emperor, which, whenever I've been going over it in my head, it's like I'm back playing KOTOR in my mind (not that I'm really complaining, but I guess I'm trying to map out how exactly it's all going to work). I admit for the duel I'm drawing a bit on the duel with Darth Nihilus in KOTOR II (when the Exile -- or Meetra, depending on whether you regard TOR as part of your KOTOR canon or not -- Mandalore and Visas basically throw down with the Lord of Hunger. Some people thought the Nihilus fight was too easy, but me? I think even before the TSLRCM -- which I recommend because it's awesome -- Nihilus was quite the opponent. That's my opinion, of course, and I'm getting off track) -- basically, a whole group of people against a Sith Lord who can still hold his own very much. And I've kind of changed the Emperor's ROTJ characterization a bit to take his ROTS characterization into account -- mostly in terms of how manipulative he can be. (My headcanon in regards to his original ROTJ characterization was that he got really cocky regarding Luke -- everything's going according to plan except, whoops, Luke doesn't seem to want to be his marionette. And later on, neither does Vader. In ROTS, he wasn't as cocky and was definitely at his prime -- in my opinion -- there, even if he was no slouch in ROTJ either) And I've been trying to make sure Mara doesn't accidentally fulfill that vision in the cave. So that part's pretty complicated. I know it's also weird doing scenes out of order, but it's always kind of worked for me -- I can get to the parts that I want to write and if the build up ends up different than what I expected, well...revision. I know this is getting pretty interesting.

Currently have 30, 415 words. *Rubs wrists* Jesus... Anyway, had a pretty nice conversation between Mara and Ventress, and got to hear Sabe's thoughts about her daughter's questionable decision, which I think would make sense, especially considering how Sabe and Ventress -- well, they're enemies. Sabe hearing about Mara's Enemy Mine with Ventress...she wouldn't be happy. Also got to have Mara trick her way past Jerjerrod (I'm basically including that one deleted scene where he tries to block off Vader from seeing the Emperor and gets Force choked for his efforts, if late in the game), which was cool. So far, things are really coming together, and I'm pleased to see it. :)
