Love Meme, Day 23
Aug. 28th, 2016 12:57 pmDay 23 - A crazy love triangle/quadrilateral that worked out great?
Luke/Han/Leia. (Sorry to put that mental image back in your head) Started off as a bit vitriolic at first, but eventually, Luke came around to the idea of the two of them together, and there was a brief misunderstanding regarding the three at first but that got smoothed over quickly.
FExile/Atton/Mical, in my personal KOTOR headcanon. Atton was pretty jealous at first in regards to my female Exile and Mical (though he -- very badly -- tried to cover it up), before he realized it wasn't the case. And Mical -- who I headcanon wasn't in love with the Exile as much as hero worshipping her. It's the personal vibe I got. Atton adores her but tries to cover it up with jokes (and unlike Han Solo, has zero idea how to make the first move, which is pretty endearing, in my opinion), Mical hero-worships her, Bao-Dur sees her as a comrade-in-arms and Sion loves her but is afraid of it/ashamed of it/etc. (And like I said in a previous post, there's the "I hate you as much as I hate [Kreia]" part, which makes things a little...quadrilateral-y. A little. *)
And then there's male Exile/Visas/Handmaiden. I at least, on my first playthrough as a male (and so far only) managed to get influence with both of them without pissing off Handmaiden (and I think Handmaiden's animosity towards Visas is understandable considering the black-and-white views Atris might have engrained in her -- this is the same woman who tried to make the Exile out to be worse than Revan, Malak, Exar Kun and Freedon Nadd combined, after all), which is awesome.
* I just find it amusing that no matter who you're playing as, you've got three people fighting over you. For the male Exile, you have Handmaiden, Visas and Atris, for the female you have Atton, Mical and Sion. (And there's also the gender dynamics in general. When you play as a female PC in K1, you kind of get harassed a lot, which was the main reason I didn't like playing as a female PC the first time I played it in years. It was sort of like a lot of the NPCs saw you as a piece of meat and not a person, which was an uncomfortable experience. In K2, it's sort of like it doesn't really matter much, and aside from Atton's jokes about you being in your underwear -- and you can tell him to knock it off. And there's an implication all that was a cover-up considering how much he cares what you think of him, how awkward he is when he asks Bao-Dur if you might be interested in him, how during Peragus he promised to protect you throughout...based on Atton's dialogue, I think it's likely some of it was a cover-up -- there's not much attention drawn to the fact that you're a girl. And then there's Sion, whose bizarre love confession is intentional considering he really has difficulty describing what these emotions are, and judging by some of his dialogue, some of it really may have been a strange feeling of kinship, e.g. his line "You know what it means to be broken." And respect, of course. Some of it also comes from the female Exile's skill in combat. But I don't think it's much of a stretch if the first seeds came from a strange sort of feeling of connectedness.
Day 24 - A crazy love triangle/quadrilateral that worked out badly?
Day 25 - A pairing that was/would-be adorable, but could never work out?
Day 26 - A pairing that you hated and ended up loving?
Day 27 - A pairing that you loved and ended up hating?
Day 28 - A pairing that you will never understand?
Day 29 - What ship had the best proposal?
Day 30 - Your favorite ship forever and ever and ever!
