Let's say I've been busy recently. College stuff, things like that. Currently back from my cousin's wedding as well -- I definitely had a great time. It was good to see her and her family again, especially considering that I probably haven't seen them since I was a kid. The ceremony went well; I think the only really bad thing was that there was a bit of a cold front going through the area at the time, and it started raining, and though it wasn't too bad by the time the ceremony got started, it was still pretty bad. I think the minister in charge of the wedding even made some jokes about it. But it was a beautiful ceremony, and really -- I hope that my cousin and her new husband are happy together.
The reception went really well also -- I did some dancing with the others, which was fun, and caught up with my aunt and uncle. I learned he was the best man at my dad's wedding, which was really cool, and my aunt shared some stories about that. I also caught up with my cousins, one who has a daughter now, one who's now in high school. And then we headed back to the hotel my dad and I were staying at -- I couldn't go to the afterparty because I was worn out, but I did email my cousin to thank her for having my dad and I. And I slept okay -- only real disruption was something I actually slept through, when some drunk guy wandered into our room thinking it was his; luckily, that got smoothed over.
And previous to that, my dad and I saw Carnegie Mellon, which was really fun. The day before we didn't do much because rain, but before the wedding started, we got to see it. Overall, the wedding went great.
So, how is everyone doing?

Date: 2014-10-06 11:27 am (UTC)Everything's going pretty good over this way, except summer is coming and I'm not happy lol. How bout you?

Date: 2014-10-06 02:34 pm (UTC)I'm doing okay overall. Had a pretty bad headache yesterday (I'm guessing it was because of the pressure changes, especially considering how there was quite the cold front where I drove over to have the wedding), but I'm doing better. Also really excited about Halloween coming up. Little anxious about NaNo next month because of the workload, but I'm sure I'll survive. :)

Date: 2014-10-09 03:38 pm (UTC)And thanks. :) Don't worry; it's definitely gone away. My mom thought it was the ride back, which I think isn't really a stretch -- it was a pretty long ride from the hotel my dad and I were staying at back home.
That's very interesting! So it's kind of different over there?

Yeah, we don't celebrate Halloween at all! ♥ So all the excitement on tumblr is amusing haha, cause we have no idea what's going on!

Date: 2014-10-08 03:02 pm (UTC)Glad to hear the ceremony went so well. The wedding in August was magnificent, and I'm looking forward to this upcoming one.
Good luck with the college stuff, I know how stressful that can be.

Date: 2014-10-09 03:32 pm (UTC)And thanks! And I can definitely see that. :)
Thanks again. And yeah, college stuff can be pretty stressful. Thursdays are probably the busiest, because I have French, then Film and Lit (basically sort of analyzing movie adaptations in terms of film techniques and whatnot) and then a session with my therapist, so it's usually pretty packed. Film and Lit is awesome, though; I'm doing a bit of an essay on Fellowship of the Ring, which was pretty fun. (We sort of had to take a scene from the film and analyze it in terms of film components to see how it fits into the overall theme) And my classmates are pretty cool, as is my professor, so that's a plus. French is good too, but I think Film and Lit is definitely my favorite so far. :)
