I was watching TV yesterday when all of a sudden, there was a breaking news report and that’s how I found out. It was a big shock for me and my family.
It’s such a shame. He was a very funny man and I remember him from a lot of movies in my childhood. I hope that his family is holding up. :(
I actually first found out when I logged onto Facebook. It was a big shock for me, and for my mom as well. *Hugs*
And it really is. I remember seeing him in stuff like ALADDIN and MRS. DOUBTFIRE, and he was really good in those. Hell, the Genie's one of my favorite Disney characters. And from what I heard of him, he sounded like one hell of a guy.
And yeah. I hope his family's going to be okay. It's just...it's just terrible.
I saw it on wikipedia - such a tragedy. And heck, 63, that's only middle aged, at this point.
I remember seeing him in stuff like ALADDIN and MRS. DOUBTFIRE, and he was really good in those.
Same here, also HOOK, JUMANJI, and to a lesser extent, FLUBBER, and I'm probably missing a few. There was a point in my childhood where that man seemed damn near everywhere. I only saw GOOD WILL HUNTING over the winter, but he was great in that, too.
And yeah, from what little I've heard of him, it sounds like he was a pretty great person, and conscientious about the roles he took (refusing to appear in movies with messages he found harmful.)
