Date: 2013-10-24 06:22 am (UTC)This is is Clara and the 11th Doctor from Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS! This is my default userpic and I like it mostly because it's pretty and that was my favourite episode of Doctor Who Series 7. Also also, I double it as a "hugging" icon, so if I want express my gratitude to someone else here on LJ, I'll use this one. :D
I think this is one of my oldest icons. The pile of books is my most "neutral" of icons, I suppose, so if I'm making a post about literary stuffs or my own original fiction, I'm most likely to use this icon. Sometimes I change it to default when I get tired of Clara and the Doctor above. ^_~
One of my newest icons! Mr Saito (played by the fabulous Ken Watanabe) in Inception. I made this icon because Ken Watanabe is my current celebrity crush, and I used it most recently in a couple of comments about Inception. I mostly have it because, well, it's pretty. (That's why I have most of my icons, I think...)
I'm afraid I cut poor James Norrington's face in half for this ~artistic icon. I made it originally for my original Steampunk novel that I'm writing with a couple of RL friends (the bare roots of the stories are on Tumblr but none of us have written anything for several months...) I use it when talking about steampunky things and to portray my original character by the name of Jonathan Knox, but the chance doesn't come up very often. Again... I have it because it's pretty. :D
Michael Fassbender portraying a young Aloysius Veran, who in my extensive worldbuilding for Stewjon is Obi-Wan's super awful/creepy great-uncle. I use this when I want to be intimidating! Srsly, look at that intense stare.
Holliday Grainger, who I have fancast to portray my original character Livia Malfoy in my journals & ice cream Harry Potter post-19-Years-Later epistolary eight-part time-travel series.
...That's a mouthful. But there you go. I think it's ~artistic~ and pretty! And I adore Holliday Grainger as well - I think she's a fantastic actress.
Romeo and Juliet. I have a painting in my bedroom that I bought about... oh, ten years ago now, from a couple of Israeli art students selling their work when they came through the neighbourhood. It's a gorgeous painting; I took a photograph of the painting and gave it a few touches through Photobucket to make it look rustic/even more artistic. I adore this picture and I use it when I'm talking about romantic things, or when I'm being artistic myself. Sometimes I default this one to my userpic, when I get sick of Clara and the Books. :D
*hugs*

Date: 2013-10-23 09:57 pm (UTC)Rant icons. Though I do like Fizgig from Dark Crystal...
I <3 Karkat! Plus, they are useful emotions... keysmashing and headdesking...
...did I even use this one? I made this one looooooong ago... had a plan for it... can't remember what anymore, though...
Ah, now this is my former default icon. There is an artist who did a whole bunch of 'visible toy' series like this. I played around with the picture, iconized it, and used it for years...
Ah, now this is St. Jason. First bishop of Cyprus, hosted Paul for a night when he was preaching there and was hauled out and martyred to wild animals. It's my namesake, and for someone as atheist as I to go around under the title of "St. Jason" amuses me.
...in my personal headcanon, he is the patron of waiting for your partner outside the changing rooms. As a female-type person, you may not realize it, but it is UNCOMFORTABLE to be stuck outside the changing room for someone... especially when you are in, say... a Victoria's Secret or something. You can't look around, as they'd be calling security in moments. You can't look up, because the other female customers would assume you are leering at them while they look at bras. So you stare at your shoes and wait and wait and wait... Seems like something that a Saint might help you out with... :)

Date: 2013-10-24 02:10 am (UTC)I have pretty fond memories of putting on DARK CRYSTAL whenever I needed to sleep. And those are very useful icons.
And that's pretty awesome!
And that's really cool, about the St. Jason icon. Seriously.
