PSA: why your f-list should get excited about an upcoming TV series or movie

Also, sorry this is so late, BTW; real life and things got in the way. Also, LJ issues. But anyway...



The THOR 2 trailer is here. Let's say the moment I saw the trailer, I got ridiculously excited for the movie, and here's why:

* The fact that Loki is coming back is just mindbogglingly awesome. Seriously. And the idea of him forming a sort of Enemy Mine with Thor is also awesome. It at least opens up some fascinating story possibilities. Also, his "when do we start" is absolutely priceless.

* Christopher Eccleston is going to be playing the villain. Christopher. Fucking. Eccleston. Seriously. How awesome is that? He's a really seriously awesome actor, so having him as a villain will be fun to watch.

* I love the idea of Jane going with Thor on his journey. It's a nice little mirror to the first film; the first film had Thor having to adjust to life on Earth, while in this film, Jane has to adjust to Asgard.

* Darcy is apparently, according to supplemental information, going to have a bigger role in the film.

* The idea that it's going to go into some serious shit (Thor having to sacrifice something, etc.) will definitely be interesting to see. Let's say that I really like the trope of "heroes going through hell before coming out victorious". Emphasis on the "victorious" part.

* The scenery looks absolutely amazing.

* As do the visual effects.

* Just the idea of traveling between the realms is fucking awesome, and I can't wait to see it.

Yes! Thor 2! I need this movie in my life now. I am more in love with Thor (and Chris Hemsworth) than is probably healthy. He is just so... happy. And gorgeous. And Loki isn't so bad himself. And The Doctor as a villain. And Sif kicking some ass. And Jane being all sciency. And Darcy being funny.

Basically, everything about this movie will be amazing. Thor 1 is still my favorite Marvel movie after Avengers.

Oh yes...

Supposedly, we get a new trailer with The Lone Ranger!

Yes, I do love what they're doing with Loki and how Tom Hiddleston definitely influences them not to let Loki become static.

Well, a villain in a GOOD movie, GI Joe was still hard to watch even with all that eye candy.

I hope it expands more on magic and science but we'll have to see...after all, if magic is the equivalent of science, wouldn't that make Loki an Astrophysicist?

I would love for Darcy to turn out to be Hel...she even has green eyes! but I'll be happy for any expanded role that isn't the standard code for "We give the role a lot more to do because plan on killing that character off".

*fingers crossed that Jane doesn't die or if she does, she comes back*

I'm feeling a little better about the director being mostly known for Game of Thrones but we'll see...

Sadly, a large part of my excitement over Thor 2 now also has to do with the trailer for Winter Soldier because that should be absolutely awesome.

And yeah, definitely agreed regarding being the villain in a good movie and all. I definitely hope this will be good.

And that's a very good question, really.

Same here regarding Darcy and Jane.

And I sadly haven't seen the trailer for the Winter Soldier yet, but I can definitely imagine!
