Introduce us to another main character
Another main character I have in this story is...well, one of the villains, Lord Rage. I confess that I sort of wince a little coming away from his scenes because...well, this character was all but created broken. He's sort of a Shell-Shocked Veteran and a former Wide Eyed Idealist that had his beliefs shattered. Before he became Rage, he was really a nice, well-meaning but kind of clueless guy. Then a war with a group called the Sedition happened, and on top of that, he learned certain things about the order that he was part of he would prefer not to know. Did I also mention that as Lord Rage, he can't die? So yeah, he's kind of a wreck. He has some Wide Eyed Idealist tendencies in him that can go too far, such as attempting to resurrect the dead in order to at least atone for his crimes.
I'm attempting to at least tone him down in the rewrite to make him slightly more believable (hell, this might be due to some variation or so on Early Installment Weirdness, but in book one, he came off as so angry * -- I know, what did I expect when I named him, but still... -- that it honestly scared the living daylights out of me. All well and good, but I want to keep him rooted in some sort of reality too), but so far, I'm pretty interested in him for the most part. He's a tad derivative, but he's interesting nonetheless.
