The top link is the most important, as it will tell you what you need to know about present and pending laws that could block you from voting if you don't have the right documents, what the new early voting periods are in some states, what the new requirements are in some states for early or absentee voting, and so on.
Even if you don't live in those states, check that top link. Similar bills might pop up in your state or territory next year. And an alarming number of voters--the majority of them black, Latino, elderly, physically and/or mentally disabled, and/or poor--may not be able to vote in this election.
Also, whatever state or territory that you live in--CHECK WITH YOUR TOWN OR CITY HALL to find out where you're supposed to vote this year. The districts may have been altered, thanks to population shift, and as a result, the voting places have changed as well...possibly not for the better. My district has switched the voting place from a school (which is understandable, given the massive renovations going on over there) to a nursing home with a driveway so narrow that the Dial-A-Ride van drivers have to fight to avoid scraping the wall. There's also nowhere to park and nowhere to turn around. I know all this because I've been on the van when the drivers have had to pick people up there.
You can imagine how well this is going to work on Election Day, can't you?
So try to be ready so that you can avoid any unpleasant surprises on November 6.
