This is just what I needed...

I've recently started to watch Teen Wolf thanks to recommendation from a friend and I'm loving it to pieces, but I seriously don't get the fandom's obsession with Stiles or the Derek/Stiles ship. Derek/Scott makes a lot more sense, but I can't seem to find a decent fic. I can't even seem to find a fic, let alone decent. :\

That really sucks. :( *hugs* *has been there before*

On another note, I'm not quite sure if many agree with me, but I adore the hell out of the Christopher Eccleston-David Tennant era of DOCTOR WHO.

I confess I haven't watched Doctor Who yet, but I know a lot of people who love David Tennant's Doctor, so you're not alone. :)

Still on Teen Wolf... If I see one more thing Sterek, there's a chance that I'm going to punch a wall. Grr...

Ah. Thanks. *hugs*

It's really good! :D I've got some of the old audiobooks as well -- considering I'm currently a bit of an insomniac, I've been listening to them to help me sleep. (Fucking insomnia...) Granted, I doubt either Davros or the Master could be considered soothing (speaking of which, I...really like how they interpreted the Master for the new series. I know Forcewatcher and I have gotten into debates about this, but I really like the way they did it. Helps that John Simm did a great job; then again, DOCTOR WHO is just amazingly well-cast all around), but it's the whole "allure of a good story" thing that helps. I know it helped alleviate some homesickness at sleepaway camp.

*Is curious about TEEN WOLF and the pairings you mentioned, as well as...what it's about*

I intend to catch up with Doctor Who at some point, but I keep getting sucked in the so-much-to-see-so-little-time loop, you know? :\ Oh well...

Teen Wolf is a teen werewolf show from MTV that everyone has been talking about recently. I saw the first season was available on DVD in Brazil, and decided to check it, a little skeptical, but I was hooked. The show is not a masterpiece or serious werewolf stuff, but it's surprisingly good. :) You should check it out.

Here's the season one trailer: http://youtu.be/1rCYDbefnmA

S'okay. Just let me know when you've managed to get it. :)

That looks pretty cool, I must say! :D (Although I will admit, watching the trailer...I want to see a werewolf superhero. Seriously. :3)

Sure thing. :)

I'm glad you thought it looked cool. I suppose you could tell who Scott is, from the trailer, right? Derek is that hot dude with black hair and those hypnotic green eyes. :D

A werewolf superhero? That could be cool. :)

Yep. And Scott/Derek does make a lot more sense. :)

Hee, thanks. :) Maybe I'll write it for my original fic. Or for the next AU Big Bang. :)

S'okay. You just mixed things up a little bit. Scott meets Derek after he (Scott) was turned into a werewolf, and Derek takes it upon himself to look after him and teach him to control his new powers. Derek has a somewhat stalker streak when it comes to Scott, I won't lie, but it's...sort of endearing, lol. The guy has the weight of the world on his shoulders, as is revealed later in the first season. Anyway, Derek and Scott have a pretty intense relationship in the show - not romantic, but intense nonetheless. The romantic is the fans' wishful thinking. :P

I got back into KOTOR1. I love it so goddamn much. While I think KOTOR2 is a more mature game, KOTOR always pulls me in. It's just so...amazing. Even after owning it for 9 years and playing it to death, it's in my top three [next to Splinter Cell 1 and KOTOR2, of course]. It's classic Star Wars without the canon rape, and it gives players choice without disturbing other stories. Probably Bioware's greatest achievement, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

For some reason, my classic TV watching keeps alternating lately between The Addams Family, The Wild Wild West, the Jeremy Brett version of Sherlock Holmes, and South Park. I usually watch one of those in the evening while eating dinner. The combination is... jarring.

I wish there was more to tell. It's just a bizarre mix. I switch between them every day for some unknown reason.

Sadly, I was wondering when they'd get around to this story again, and how long it'll last this time. Reference this one from 1988: Action #600

http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/marvel_dc/images/thumb/9/9f/Action_Comics_600.jpg/300px-Action_Comics_600.jpg

They handled it very well back in the day... but it's a different era now.

Yeah... *sighs* I didn't mind it in Frank Miller's comics too much, but those were AU (so to speak). This is a lot different.

From: [identity profile] forcewatcher.livejournal.com
I mind everything in Frank Miller's comics, but that's another story. I can't give an opinion on this without knowing where they went with it. In 1988, they tried it out and realized they were better off as best friends. In Kingdom Come, they were all each other had left, and it ended very well for them as a couple. I have no reason to believe that this will be handled with any kind of dignity - the New 52 has all but jettisoned that idea - but I'll hope for the best and remember that this isn't my Superman, and it isn't my Wonder Woman.

Date: 2012-08-22 10:34 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] ladyhadhafang.livejournal.com
I kinda figured that. ;-)

And yeah, pretty much this. Knowing the new Superman and Wonder Woman, it's just going to end badly. Not to mention how Geoff Johns has treated the poor girl for the past years...ugh!

Date: 2012-08-22 10:41 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] forcewatcher.livejournal.com
Geoff Johns has pretty much raped the entire DCU over the course of the past 6 years, and Jim Lee's joining in the gang rape now. I know, that sounds bad, but I just have some really strong issues when it comes to people abusing around my friends.

Date: 2012-08-22 10:54 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] ladyhadhafang.livejournal.com
Jim Lee, seriously? *Sighs* What is it with that man and picking out bad comics? Seriously?

Date: 2012-08-22 10:56 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] forcewatcher.livejournal.com
Who do you think redesigned all the costumes with the New 52, STARTING with Wonder Woman? The man's reputation is a big joke, but then, so's Geoff Johns, Frank Miller, and a great many others I can name. I miss Greg Rucka. There's a man that clearly understood both Batman and Wonder Woman. If you ever get the chance to read The Hiketia (assuming you haven't)... do so.

Beautiful? Really? Well, to each their own. I'm still having trouble getting over this crap:

http://www.comicartcommunity.com/gallery/details.php?image_id=38833

And don't even get me started on his obsession with short ears / extra body armor Batman.

Back later... about to podcast!

Date: 2012-08-22 11:03 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] ladyhadhafang.livejournal.com
Well, usually. *Squirms uncomfortably looking at the new design for Wonder Woman*

And yeah...why would he need Batman's ears shorter? Is he afraid they'll be mistaken for bunny ears or something? And why extra body armor? Rule of Cool?

Good luck! :D

Date: 2012-08-23 02:04 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] forcewatcher.livejournal.com
Podcast accomplished. Lord knows when it'll be edited, but that was fun!

I can't explain the ears, no. It's just what Lee's been doing since the beginning with Batsy. It doesn't work for me. And the armor... I get armor. I don't get the need to overdo it like they have now. Classic "tights" Batman HAD armor. People don't realize, that costume has been picked apart and figured out over the years. It was perfect!

Date: 2012-08-23 02:24 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] ladyhadhafang.livejournal.com
Awesome! :D

Yeah... *sighs* Seriously, wouldn't too much armor hinder flying? And fighting?

Date: 2012-08-23 02:26 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] forcewatcher.livejournal.com
Well, Batman doesn't fly, and if the armor is made correctly (which is used to be), then it won't hinder his fighting either. But this is Jim Lee. It's got to "look cool." I'm sure his fans love it.

Hahahahaha, I can *so* picture Eleven in that situation. :3

AMY: Doctor, how did you even get away from the Daleks?

DOCTOR: Oh, I used rocket boots, Amy. Rocket boots are cool.

'Course, there, he'd be right -- rocket boots would get you out of a helluvalot of sticky situations, would you not agree? :)

Date: 2012-08-23 12:03 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] forcewatcher.livejournal.com
Absolutely I'd agree! My only fear is when he starts using the rocket boots for things they're not designed to, like walk through walls, melt Dalek casings, transport between dimensions, etc. If they can do that to a sonic screwdriver, they can do that with anything. It's an ongoing gripe, but I don't fault Eleven. If anything, I give him style points for ingenuity in the classic Doctor tradition.

Date: 2012-08-23 02:56 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] ladyhadhafang.livejournal.com
Ingenuity is what the Doctor does, after all. ;-)

But yeah, that would be a problem. (How many settings does that screwdriver *have*?)

Date: 2012-08-23 02:59 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] forcewatcher.livejournal.com
Exactly! Last I checked, it's not a tricorder, and it certainly doesn't have a readout screen. I'm still looking for any kind of plausible in-universe explanation for that one. lol

Date: 2012-08-23 03:02 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] ladyhadhafang.livejournal.com
Well, no screwdriver is alike, I guess...

Date: 2012-08-23 03:04 pm (UTC)

And now, no screwdriver is even a screwdriver!

Date: 2012-08-23 03:32 pm (UTC)

Okay, that's problematic.

Date: 2012-08-23 03:40 pm (UTC)
