2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon glee.
One of my oldest icons, really, from arda_icons -- usually used whenever I'm scared or low on sleep or both.
The shot's from Aragorn's nightmare when he sees the consequences of Arwen giving up immortality for him. Whatever you may say about the sequence, it's quite beautifully shot, and it really makes you fear for Arwen. Some have had some nitpicks about "Arwen's fate is tied to the Ring", but what they mean by that is that if the Fellowship fails to overthrow Sauron...well, End of the World As We Know It. And it helps Elrond get over his bitterness towards Men (Arwen telling him to reforge the sword of Elendil really means, "There's still good in men, Ada, if you can only see." Sort of mirroring Boromir's argument with Aragorn in the FOTR Extended Edition. But we'll be coming to Boromir shortly. :) as well as giving Aragorn extra drive to defeat Sauron and become King of Gondor, especially since in Fellowship, he was worried (understandably so) about ending up like Isildur.
One of my favorite Boromir scenes in Fellowship of the Ring, when he confronts Frodo on Amon Hen. Boromir's role is significantly fleshed out and made more sympathetic than in the book -- in the book, of course, he was sympathetic enough, but at the same time...well, let's say on Amon Hen in the book, I wanted to reach out and slap him, especially when he started going on about "Oh, I'm so much more qualified to carry the Ring, blah blah blah, you're just a stupid little Hobbit who doesn't know a damn thing, blah blah blah", throwing in jabs at Elrond, Gandalf and Galadriel for good measure. I did feel sorry for him once he snapped out of his brief spell of madness, but...*sighs* I think book!Boromir had a talent for both making one feel sorry for him and making one want to slap him.
Movie!Boromir, though, was definitely an improvement. I will admit during the Council of Elrond scene in the movie, he did grate on my nerves a bit, but I think there's something about the combination of really good writing (especially considering that Peter and co. really cared about this character) and Sean Bean's performance (Sean Bean's just a really good actor in general, and he seemed just as determined to do the character of Boromir justice). Some choice scenes I have are him sparring with Merry and Pippin (it's really one of the few times, besides the flashback with Faramir in the Two Towers Extended Edition, where you actually see him smiling), his scene on Caradhras where he contemplates taking the Ring (there was actually some dialogue that was originally from Amon Hen moved to this scene, just because it was too good to pass up) before Aragorn stops him, pleading with Aragorn to let the Hobbits rest after Gandalf's fall in Moria, consoling Frodo in Lorien in the FOTR Extended Edition, his talk with Aragorn in Lothlorien (just Sean Bean's performance there breaks my heart), sacrificing himself for Merry and Pippin and his subsequent dying talk with Aragorn, and, previously, of course, this scene.
Like I said previously, the book version of the scene kind of made me feel sorry for Boromir and want to slap him at the same time. And the same here -- but I think the motives on Boromir's part are far different. In the book, it was more jealousy and pride on Boromir's part (at least, that's how I saw it), but in the movie, it seems not only does he genuinely want to help Gondor, but in a way, he wants to save Frodo from himself. It carries over up to the end, when he attempts to defend Merry and Pippin from Lurtz, and when he reconciles with Aragorn before he dies. It's...hard to explain, but the writers did beautifully with this character, they really did. And considering the rest of the movies are just as awesome, that's quite the accomplishment! :D
Made by the lovely and talented nisa for me at anakin_icontest. :) Basically, I asked for an icon that was based on the lyrics to "Is It Real" by The Seatbelts (which I think fits Anakin quite well, really. :). She did beautifully, really. :)
Let's say I was browsing around iconzicons during one session of boredom and looking for icons, found this, and decided, "Hey, I think I'm going to need this." Usually used in particularly "WTF" scenarios.
Another Padme icon. (Sensing a pattern? ;-) Snagged from duncatra -- used whenever my fandom is being particularly idiotic.
