Updated my NaNo -- currently at 9,249 words. *Sighs in relief* Wonderful, but even so, I'm slightly tired. Considering that I had to go horseback riding out in the freezing cold previously...yeah. I'm enjoying writing these characters -- Padme, Obi-Wan, Boba, etc. And Sidious is already scaring the hell out of me, while at the same time making me eager to see what he's up to. #Prays she can keep her energy for Week Two, especially considering that Week Two's the worst -- or so she's heard. Still, NaNo's pretty therapeutic -- it's really helping me cope and everything. Which is nice. :)

*Sighs*

Tired now. Better go relax.

Yeah, it was pretty cold. Going out without a goddamn winter coat did not help. XD (Okay, I had a coat. It was a raincoat, if only because I was in a rush. #This is why I fail. XD)

Heh. I didn't wear a coat to the airport, it was fine. Of course, I was in my ridiculous little car that's like a greenhouse on wheels, so with the sun coming in I was burning up … maybe that's not the best frame of reference from which to judge the weather! :)

Ah yes. She's a heartbreaker, our girl. A few of her fics are still up on FFV, and even a couple under the Wynstora account. EsWyn is still up, of course, but I haven't decided what I'll do about the joint fics we were working on - she hasn't given me any guidance about them. I don't want to stop, but several of them involve the same OCs for whom she determined to take down JMGT, so I have got to wrestle with that problem somehow. Maybe rewrite them with different characters? But it won't be the same project without estora. So, yeah. We'll all miss her, I'm sure. But she wasn't happy on LJ, so hopefully this will be a good change for her. I understand she's doing very well in her other pursuits, and I know you wish her the best, as I do.

Why horseback riding? I mean, for fun, or for therapy, or because it seemed like a good idea at the time? I've never been on a horse, though my father-in-law has a couple.

FFN, of course, not ffV. Ridiculous. I am sleep-typing. But anyway, it's still true that some of her stories are archived - and she's publishing Doctor Who fics now under the same name on AO3, so that's good news, I guess.

She seems to be having fun, anyway. That's a good thing to do - or so I'm told, lol! I need to have more fun in my life! :)

I'm scared of horses. I was once chased across a pasture by a couple of them. It was awkward.

Seriously, not only is he a scary sonuvabitch, but he's complicated to write. He's cunning, but not super-obvious about it...if you get what I mean. :)

I don't know what sort of horse it is specifically, but he's very temperamental, if good-hearted. A lot like Anakin when you come to think of it. ;-)

The intrigue around him is a true challenge to write, too, plotwise. It's not enough to just say, 'He's bad and a schemer', the writer has to come up with just what he's scheming about. Whew!

I'm curious because I've ridden many horses through the years and the breeds are fascinating. My sister actually owned about thirty at one time and when she quit riding, said she'd been thinking of switching to mules for riding at the end, because they're not as skittish as horses.

Well-said regarding Palpatine. *Sighs* Have you read the DELTORA QUEST series? I'm mostly drawing inspiration for Palpatine/Sidious off the Shadow Lord -- I even kind of make a few Shout Outs to him in fic. The whole "I have plans within plans" thing -- I think the way I'm managing to handle his scheming is that he mostly bases his decisions off what's actually happened. That and listening to stuff like, say, "Master of Puppets" by Metallica and "The Game" by Disturbed helps me get into his mindset as well. And as frightening as he is...I'm actually quite impressed with him. And in need of a cold shower at the same time. XD

Definitely agreed. You always have to be gentle around a horse -- but firm as well -- because you don't want to frighten the horse, but you don't want it to run away on you either. It's a tough balance.

It's an old saying, "To train an animal, first you have to be smarter than the animal." I've been bucked off and stepped on and glared at, bitten, and so forth, but still, horses are beautiful when in motion.
