Again from emeriin. :)
Jul. 9th, 2011 08:38 pmIf you could have me write a fic specifically for you, what would it be like? Fandom, characters/pairing, genre, plot elements, kinks (if applicable)... what's your ideal fic from me?
And
Ask me a fandom (that I know of!), and I will tell you:
- OTP
- Runner-up
- Honorable mention(s)
- Crack pairing(s)
- Ship everyone else seems to like, but I don't

Okay, here it is! (1/2)
Date: 2011-07-11 05:28 pm (UTC)The day that Leia and the others arrived was something Luke would remember, always. Even as Vader, he still remembered, with sad fondness, the way they sat around the dinner table with Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru, laughing and joking and getting to know one another, as well as the podrace. And the aftermath...
It was times like these when Vader would doubt himself
did I do the right thing in killing them? At all?
but then Caedus' words rang in his head. Keep the watch. And even now, those words motivated him. For Leia. For the others. For everyone he lost when he turned to the Dark Side to protect the
dead, they said, but they were lying, of course
Republic.
No, another part of Vader said. Everyone you threw away.
2. Leia:
Luke had grown. Even now, Leia was impressed with the maturity he seemed to have gained out there on Ansion with Han -- that calm assurance, dignity and poise. It seemed only yesterday that he was an overeager kid constantly asking her questions about Coruscant.
"It's good to see you again, Luke."
"And you, Senator," Luke said. At least there was an element of his almost awkward shyness in him still. That, at least, was somewhat reassuring. As if sensing her thoughts, Luke gave her a warm smile. "You know, you haven't changed a day."
And somehow, after everything that had happened
the deaths of Winter, Cakhmaim and Meewalh still hurt, in spite of Palpatine's reassurance that they did their duty
that, at least, managed to soothe her slightly.
3. Luke:
The pain of Caedus' lightsaber going through his arm still burned. Even now, flexing his new mechanical arm, Luke wasn't entirely sure if he'd ever truly be whole again. Han helped, of course, as well as Leia and Mara
and even Ki Adi-Mundi got off his high ronto to offer some words of comfort and advice regarding Caedus
but even then, thinking of Caedus was enough to send waves of hatred rushing over Luke -- hatred so visceral, so thickly poisonous that it threatened to make him physically sick. I shouldn't hate...a Jedi shouldn't hate...
But even then, that simple mantra didn't help much.
4. Leia:
After Geonosis, after all these other planets, Luke wasn't quite the same to her. If anything, what had happened at Alderaan -- the Vong nearly destroying everything they loved -- was bad enough. But somehow, the way the Vong Wars were killing Luke from the inside
the nightmares about Brakiss, for example
and the new knowledge of his parentage
their parentage
made Leia find that, no, she'd never hated anyone more than Caedus and his crew. The sooner they were killed or locked up, the better.
5. Luke:
"Surely they want to do the right thing." But considering everything else that was happening -- the assassination attempts, the death threats, and so many other things -- Luke wasn't entirely sure if he could trust Leia and the others anymore. If anything, he didn't know what was going on anymore.
Re: Okay, here it is! (2A/2)
Date: 2011-07-11 05:29 pm (UTC)Leia did the talking. Even now, looking over at Luke, she could feel his disapproval emanating from him in waves. Even now, remembering the arguments with Luke about Lumiya, remembering Han's attempts to reason with him
she's becoming a dictator, Luke; don't you realize that? It's like Caedus said --
He was Sith, Han. You're giving his word more credibility than hers?
made her shiver on the inside. Luke was slipping away from her. And for all their attempts to help him, Lumiya was luring him deeper into her web. And there was nothing they could do to help him.
Finally, the meeting ended, and Leia was already left more confused and irritated than she previously was. "On behalf of the Delegation of the 2,000," she said, "I thank you...Chancellor."
"And I thank you, Senator Organa," Lumiya said, her voice cool and controlled as always.
Leia never wanted this to happen. But even then, looking over at Luke, who was standing in his parade-rest position near Lumiya, giving her a look as obvious as a slap, she wasn't sure whether she was on Lumiya's
or Luke's, for that matter
side.
7. Luke: He didn't know what he was doing even as he cut Qui-Gon down -- the most he was doing was trying to block Qui-Gon's strike, but even as the Jedi Master faced him, somehow, the rush of the Dark Side overwhelmed him. And somehow, he was enjoying it -- enjoying what he was doing. By the time he managed to snap out of it, Qui-Gon was dead.
And just like Caedus, just like Tahiri's family, there was nothing he could do to make it right again.
8. Leia:
Even listening to Lumiya's speech in the Senate, she turned, urgently, to look at Palpatine. "How can we sit back and let this happen?" she whispered. "How can we -- "
"We won't," Palpatine says, in those steady, paternal tones that somehow, manage to calm Leia, even slightly. "We'll keep it a secret."
"We couldn't live a lie even if we wanted to."
"We've been living a lie for the past few weeks," Palpatine said, looking over at the empty pod seats where Representative Malla should have sat as if remembering the meetings in Luke's apartment in vivid detail. "I doubt this time could be any different."
Leia squeezed her eyes shut. The Republic was already crumbling around their ears, and even as the chants of the Senators, endorsing an Empire, a loss of freedom, of everything they used to be, overwhelmed her like a tidal wave, somehow, not even Palpatine's support could make it seem like everything was going to be all right again. But even as that truth rang in her ears
so this is how liberty dies. With cheering and applause.
another truth rose to take its place.
Lumiya's Empire would not last forever.
They'd act like good Senators on the outside. Voting for Lumiya. Asking others to vote for her as well. And meanwhile, they'd be doing all the things they weren't allowed to talk about. Fighting for freedom. Fighting for democracy -- for the right of ordinary beings to live their lives in peace and freedom.
They would not give up.
And somehow, with that truth in mind, facing Lumiya and her Empire seemed very easy.
Re: Okay, here it is! (2/2)
Date: 2011-07-11 05:29 pm (UTC)"Every Jedi, including your friend, Han Solo, is now an enemy of the Republic." And though something in Luke recoiled at those words, Darth Vader, Yun Yammka, did not even flinch. Do what must be done. Do what must be done for the galaxy, for Mara. For all you love.
Even now, amongst so many things swirling in his mind as he marched on the Jedi Temple, he thought of Leia, and her laughter, and her support. And Han. And Mara. But most of all Leia.
Leia, I'm sorry...I'm sorry...
And when he was left standing in a pile of slaughtered Jedi, the only one standing in that Council Chamber besides some of his stormtroopers, the thought continued to ring in his ears.
Leia...I'm sorry.
10. Leia: When Vader finally comes for her, she is ready. She never wanted it to end this way; if anything, Luke deserved far better than the fate Vader forced him to suffer. He should have gone soaring amongst the stars. He should have become a war hero, living happily with Mara Jade and their children
even hearing about his secret marriage to Mara still confuses her, considering...everything else that's just happened
There are so many other things that should have happened. And yet, in a way, this is how it'll all end. Not in a blaze of glory, not in paradise, but with a whisper of regret.
Perhaps it doesn't have to end this way...
Leia draws her vibroblade. Though she has a feeling she may not survive this day, it doesn't mean that she can't go out in a blaze of glory.
There is still hope in this galaxy, after all -- if Luke
if Vader
could only see.
