"I dabble a little" Ship: Anakin/Palpatine. I think it could work. :) The dynamics are there, at the very least -- and why would Palpatine have gone back to Mustafar to save Anakin like that? Or actually called him "Anakin" when he was ordering the clones to get a medical capsule? Maybe it sounds like I'm reading too much into things, but I think somewhere in that black, twisted artery that passes for Palpatine's heart, he did grow to care about Anakin somewhat, but at the same time, had to carry through with exploiting him (and everyone else) to serve the cause of the Sith -- in fact, I kind of remember reading somewhere that Palpatine was raised as a Tyke Bomb by Plagueis, so he didn't actually have a choice in the matter. I won't say it excuses what he does, but I think Anakin was his one speck of humanity he ignored. (And I got sentimental about goddamn Palpatine. Shoot me now. XD)

Also dabbled a bit in Luke/Mara (before fandom turned me off. :P) and Jacen/Tenel Ka and Caedus/Tahiri.

"Tickles my fancy but not sold just yet" Ship: Obi-Wan/Padme (let's say it's going to take a really, really good author to sell me on this one. I see them more like brother and sister, really. :). * Also, Obi-Wan/Satine from CLONE WARS (I just like the idea of her character. :).

"Makes no canon sense but why the Hell not" Ship: Obi-Wan/Dorme, Obi-Wan/Sabe (I'll admit I used to be a Sabewan shipper. ^^).

"Everyone else loves it but I just don't feel it" Ship: Luke/Mara. Don't get me wrong, I love the ship, I really do, but I don't see it as "ZOMGTEHBESTSHIPEVAR!1!" And bashing the other females that were paired with Luke in the past (let's say Luke's kind of a chick magnet in the EU and leave it at that. :) **)

** It's kind of curious, I'll admit, that *Anakin* never got that sort of attention. And I wouldn't be complaining about it except, for all the people who say that the EU's too "Anakin-centric", I say that the EU treats Luke too much like a god (you know, handsome beyond belief, Incorruptible Pure Pureness, yadda yadda yadda. And I wouldn't be so pissed off about it if it weren't for the fact that Anakin basically beats him in every arena. *Anakin* threw down the Emperor, not Luke. It's a "do not want" situation. I mean, the pairing doesn't make any sense at all to me (I believe I've explained it via PM; Obi-Wan doesn't care about Padmé at all, protecting her is a chore he has to do, and in the end he only tries to save her because that's the one thing he can still do "for the man he loves" (quoting the ROTS novelization)), so I don't want to read it. Ever. (Yeah, I'm more or less the type of only doing what I want.)

I'm sorry if this came out a little bitchy... It's nothing personal, really. *hugs* It's just that this ship does make me bitchy.

In fact, that got me thinking -- people keep going on about Luke being one of the most powerful Sith of all time, being able to make up for the fact his father's, um, kind of hindered by his cybernetic implants (and hello casual discrimination against people who have disabilities. /sarcasm), blah blah blah, but I doubt Luke could even live up to his father's potential. Hell, I doubt he's worthy to be called Anakin's son, considering that Anakin's twice the man Luke could hope to be. I mean, for example, say what you will about Anakin, but at least he'd never say, "Compassion is for those who deserve it." (And yes, Luke actually said that in FOTJ; I wish to Watto himself I was making this up) Anakin would at least have some degree of mercy towards a fallen student. Anakin would at least go and face a fallen pupil head on. *Anakin*...*sighs* Geez, I'm bitchy. 0.0. I guess I'm kind of focusing on the negative too much; I should really do something about that.

But on a lighter note, once again, that really is a lovely banner. sith_romantic's extremely talented. :) #Envies her quietly.

I actually think I've seen it somewhere though. Not sure where but I think I have. Let's face it if Jet is getting with any of the Dangerous Ladies its Mai. I feel like he would hate Azula on principle as she's a firebender/royalty. Mai at least brings skills to the table and isn't as bubbly as Ty Lee.

I really just needed to see what all the hate was about. And then it was like a train wreck: it kept getting worse. Like I thought "no it won't...really? We're having Aang glow during sex? And everyone ok with Azula? I....brain hurts." I've read one good Sokka/Azula fic and it worked well but no others.
