Wonderful episode, but goddamn it was just so sad.

Things I Loved:

-Everyone was magnificent in that episode (seriously, DOCTOR WHO is just in general really well-cast and acted), but the guy who portrayed Vincent...seriously, that guy should really star in a biopic about Van Gogh, because from what I heard about Van Gogh...that actor captured Vincent perfectly.

-While most of the episode was a major Tearjerker, there were moments of humor here and there, e.g. Amy complaining about Vincent's snoring. I dunno; I just found that funny for some reason. (Oh, Karen Gillan. I really miss you)

-Honestly, that episode in general was one of my favorites for Amy. The fact that she and the Doctor at least tried to make Vincent's life better...

-Vincent being able to perceive Amy's grief over Rory, even though (at the time) she didn't remember him. (And on a sidenote, I really, really miss the Ponds so much. :( I mean, at least they were happy in the end, but I still miss them. :( )

-That poor Krafayis. I really liked how the monster in question wasn't attacking out of spite, but in a way, because it was afraid. And blind. And left on Earth by its pack. I also loved Eleven soothing it, even though he couldn't really see it...just...oh. ;.;

-And later, Amy, Vincent and Eleven lying outside, looking up at the stars and holding hands as Vincent talks about how beautiful the night sky really is. How it's not really black, but dark blue, with some lighter shades of blue, and pinpoints of gold in between. (Mostly paraphrasing, but let's say that as a watcher and even a writer, there's certain scenes you just fall in love with, and for me, that was one of them)

+ Also, earlier, his discussion about how complicated sunflowers are to paint.

-The Doctor taking Van Gogh into the future just to show him how loved his work is going to be. Just Van Gogh's reaction...as well as him reassuring the Doctor that he's all right -- that he's crying out of joy. I think that's when my official waterworks began.

-Vincent dedicating the sunflower painting to Amy.

-The "pile of good things" discussion.

-The sensitive way they handled the matter of Van Gogh's depression.

-Amy discussing how red the hair that she and Vincent's children would have. "The ultimate ginge." "Brighter than sunflowers."

So yeah...wonderful episode, definitely a Must See.

(Also, that icon? That was basically me being a borderline-sobbing wreck after the episode)
