Holy shit, this is awesome! :D Seriously, awesome. :)
Things I loved:
-Loved the opening with The Last Angry Geek and U3 (I think that's his name; feel free to correct me. :) bickering. That was cute. :)
-The scene with Film Brain trying to cheer up Luke after Cinema Snob's been taken. Poor Luke. :( And had to chuckle a bit at Film Brain's rather bad attempts to comfort him -- although they were pretty sweet in a weird way as well.
-The conversation between Cinema Snob and Christopher Clod/The Executor. Seriously, flawless. :3 Also, Cinema Snob's apparent real name is "Bradakin". :) Which I found pretty amusing -- especially considering how the Clod-talking-to-Snob-about-paychecks-and-such scene and the opera scene so resemble the scenes from the Star Wars prequels, especially Clod's speech about Uwe Boll. Honestly, when Clod first showed up on screen, I thought, "Wait a minute, I know that voice..." but figured, at first, that it was just Rob Walker Acting For Two (hey, it happens!). It wasn't until later that I realized he was the Executor. XD *Doesn't have a clue sometimes* XD
+ Also, Clod played on Snob's insecurities, but not really in the way I expected. I'll admit, I actually expected Clod to play on the whole deal about "You know, the reviewers don't really make good friends, etc. etc.", bringing up the whole Kickassia incident where Snob was exiled, for example. I mean, to be fair, that argument would fall flat on its face considering that it ultimately backfired in the end, but it would be pretty neat, IMHO, to see a bit of Critic's bad decisions from Kickassia coming back to bite him. But I really liked Clod playing on Snob's desires to write a real movie -- it was a pretty good parallel to the prequels, IMHO. Especially considering that one of many reasons Anakin turns is that, in a way, he's tired of being treated like he's nobody, feeling like he's not good enough, etc. etc. It's why I fell in love with Anakin to begin with -- I actually have inferiority issues up the wazoo as well. Not as bad as his, but pretty bad. And I think in a way, Anakin's so-called arrogance may have also been a cover-up for his insecurities as well. Trying to be the perfect Jedi, because why shouldn't he? He is the Chosen One, after all.
/end tangent.
Sorry, kind of got all...meta-y for a moment. Back on track.
But yeah, I guess in a way, Clod is playing on Snob's whole "tired of being nobody" thing. Especially in the opera scene, when Snob bemoans how seemingly little he's capable of. (Which...don't be so hard on yourself, Snob. I'm sure you can produce *way* better than some of the stuff that's out today. :)
Speaking of which, I also thought Clod's argument regarding Uwe Boll was weirdly compelling as well -- not exactly right, but compelling nonetheless. Honestly, both Rob Walker and Brad Jones turned in great performances. Hell, I'd say that Snob's seduction (even if Clod was occasionally mugging for the camera what with groping the Snob and everything, but I think that was the point. XD) was definitely the highlight of part five, and that says volumes! :D
* Also, one last note: if Snob's supposed to be Vader here and The Last Angry Geek Obi-Wan...does that mean we're going to have a Last Angry Geek vs. Cinema Snob confrontation sometime soon? Especially with The Last Angry Geek's early lampshading of the Mentor Occupational Hazard.
-Loved the bridge conversation between Film Brain and Critic, especially Film Brain saying, basically, that he'll be there with Critic depending on what decision Critic has to make. Definitely says volumes about Film Brain's devotion to him. :3
-Todd, no! Seriously, him getting assimilated, even though I should have seen it coming what with the "assimilating the crew one by one" line, was definitely a shock.
+ And I'll admit, Critic refusing to believe Lupa was really frustrating.
-"Whoa. Look at all the furry porn!" "That must be Joe's." *Giggles*
-Poor Paw. XD The Oh Crap look on his face when Ed!JO decides to test another one of her inventions on him was priceless. XD As was Critic's reaction as well. XD
-Had to LOL at the images in Spoony's brain that Film Brain found when he was trying to find Spoony's subconscious. Especially the TGWTG members' reactions -- special mention goes to Mechakara. "His voice is *much* more annoying." And then his...less-than-convincing imitation of Linkara getting angry. Good Lord, Mechakara -- your blending-in skills suck. XD
-The ending...holy shit. 0.0. Now I'm seriously starting to wonder about that plot hole -- and why Ma-Ti says it's Critic's destiny to go there. Is it like the Pandorica, which is opening to receive the Critic? To imprison him? Probably not likely, but it's a thought.
Overall, great installment! :D Can't wait for more. :)
