Very interesting article at any rate. I can't say I agree with all of it (while Vader may not have been the main villain, I think he was the main antagonist in the OT. Also, the matter of why others don't like Anakin and Jar-Jar. I mean, not that I hate either of these characters, but...come on, man. They can't all be like that, those detractors), it's an interesting piece nonetheless. I liked the bringing up the matter of "machismo", how "badass" seems to mean that for a lot of people (never mind that badass can come in a lot of forms, really, let's be honest). I also like the analysis of Anakin/Vader and I think the writer hit the nail on the head in that regard (although I don't agree with calling the You Have Failed Me thing "petulant". I'm not excusing it either, but...you know). Especially considering that yes, it was Anakin's choice to go dark, but I think there were a lot of contributing factors in terms of his fall. I think Palpatine had a hand in it, quite obviously, but I think the Jedi also did to some extent. Anyway, interesting article...even if I don't agree with all of it per se.
