Rules: Choose any 3 fandoms (in random order) and answer the questions. Then tag some friends.
*I choose:
1. Star Wars: The Force Awakens
2. Knights of the Old Republic
3. The Dark Tower
*the first character you loved:
1. Probably Poe and Finn. Poe's a complete sweetheart, and Finn's a character with more layers than fandom gives him credit for.
2. The Exile and Atton. Seriously, both great characters.
3. I dunno, probably Flagg/Walter. What a great villain. His conversation with Roland is one of my personal favorite Dark Tower moments.
*the character you never expected to love so much:
1. Kylo. Ren. Seriously, what a complicated, strange character. When I first heard about the concept of his character I thought it was ridiculous, but the writing, directing and acting really pulled it off beautifully.
2. The Exile and Revan.
3. Probably all of them, actually!
*the character you relate to the most:
1. I can't say, actually. Probably Kylo in some respects (I can be a bit sarcastic), or Rey. Can't say why for Rey; I just do.
2. Bastila Shan. Something about her vulnerability really makes me relate to her.
3. I dunno. Maybe Susannah?
*the character you’d slap:
1. Kylo, for some of the stuff he's pulled. (Finn, Han, Poe, Rey, the village on Tuanul...just to name a few. He's a great character, but man, the stuff he's done is awful)
2. Carth, for his reaction post-Revan reveal. Also Malak -- but I'd probably hurt my hand.
3. Roland in The Gunslinger. How dare you let Jake die? You dumbass!
*Three favorite characters (in order of preference):
1. All of the damn cast. (Cheating, I know)
2. Can I cheat again and say I love all of the damn cast?
3. Father Callahan, Susannah, Jake.
*a character you liked at first but not anymore:
1. Hux. Don't get me wrong; I like him as a villain, but fanon's really Woobified him beyond recognition. I do feel sorry for Hux given his background (let's say his father was emotionally and possibly physically abusive, which, people like that are awful), but he's still not a nice person. And the idea of him being Emperor creeps me out. I even had a planned series Deconstructing that idea.
2. Carth. He's not a bad guy, but he can be a jerk at the best of times.
3. Roland. Rereading the Gunslinger in anticipation for the film, I didn't realize how nasty Roland could get at some points. That's one of the things I'm glad they didn't incorporate in the film. (Though Idris Elba's Roland still had some WTF moments, like dangling Jake off a cliff. Seriously, Arcel, what the heck?)
*a character you did not like at first but now do:
1. I can't say.
2. I can't say.
3. I can't say.
3. A lot of the cast, actually.
*3 otp’s:
1. Finn/Rey, Poe/Kylo (worst kept secret ever). I don't know if I'd call them OTPs, but I can't picture them with anyone else.
As for why Poe/Kylo? What can I say, the tragedy inherent in this pairing is pretty addicting to write. I just love the possibility of them knowing each other before things went bad -- it's a possibility that's really heartbreaking and a good twist that we haven't seen before in Star Wars.
2. Revan/Bastila, Exile/Atton.
3. Father Callahan/Lupe Delgado (I mean...awwww. <3 Some of Callahan's scenes with him, pre-death, are really sweet) and Roland/Susan Delgado (even though it hurts my heart).
