...I decided to buy the AOTC audiobook. (By R.A. Salvatore) Observations:
+ It's not, say, Matthew Stover (and boy do I feel like a c**t for saying that. :/), but it's generally very enjoyable, a little cheesy at times (R.A. Salvatore's kind of addicted to Tom Swifties, which throws me out a bit. :P), and Anakin, Padme and Obi-Wan are awesome in this. I mostly love Anakin's idealism, Padme's iron will, and Obi-Wan's (slight) status as the galaxy's bitch. :P (*Cough* The arena on Geonosis *Cough* *Cough* The hovercraft chase (a.k.a. a Crowning Moment of Funny) *cough*) And the Jedi Council hasn't turned into a Douchequake yet, which is also good. :)
+ Jonathan Davis is awesome. I especially love his voices for Anakin (seriously, why couldn't he have played Anakin instead? XD), Dexter Jettster, Padme, etc. Plus his quite amusing voices for Ask Aak and Jar-Jar. :P (Seriously, you know you have a trio of good writers on hand when they can make Jar-Jar completely and utterly huggable. Terry Brooks was especially good at this. :3) Hell, the next time someone criticizes the prequel trilogy, I'm going to give them these books and go, "Here. Here's your alternate canon. Enjoy." (Or something along those lines) YMMV, naturally.
+ The sexual tension between Anakin and Padme is handled way better here than in the movies. For example, the banter outside the palace in Theed. (It's pretty clear Jonathan Davis is enjoying himself there as well. ^__^)
And that's just a few. Seriously, I recommend to those who haven't checked out the novelizations: do it *now*! :D
