Day 19 - A pairing you’ve rooted for since the beginning?

Anakin/Padme. I mean, even before I officially got into Star Wars, I was pretty curious and intrigued by that pairing. It must have been when I was a wee elementary schooler who ran across someone else's copy of the Patricia C. Wrede junior novelization. They usually have some sort of stills from the movie inside, those Junior novelizations, and one that small me stumbled across was a picture of Anakin and Padme during the "don't shut me out" scene, and needless to say, I was pretty intrigued, especially by the caption (something along the lines of "Anakin and Padme share their love, and their secret") especially since I had never really seen a sympathetic villain like that prior to this (except maybe Galbatorix, but (a) his backstory was mostly related secondhand and (b) I don't know if it was elementary school or middle school that I picked up a copy of Eragon. I do remember I used to raid my sibling's book basket for books, however. I was a little bit of a book thief when it came to us two. XD) and I thought the idea of a good guy slowly going bad was a really fascinating idea. It wasn't until middle school, of course, that I picked up the prequel novelizations, but in elementary school, the seed had definitely been planted.

Aha, no wonder you're such a big fan of the prequel novelizations - it was the novelizations that started it all! XD

Yes, I ship Anakin/Padme in terms of the idea of them and fanfic versions of them. I'm just not a fan of how they and their relationship were portrayed in the prequel films.

Basically, yes. :) It really was the novelizations, both junior and regular, that really started it all. It helps that at the time, I was definitely more of a reader than anything.

And yeah. I have warmed up to Anakin/Padme in the films, but they definitely had a lot of room for improvement.
