NaNoWriMo Update

Currently have -- oi -- 47,422 words. (Jesus, I'm nearly done with the word count but I haven't even got to Bespin yet. Thank God I still have nine more days left) Anyway, I genuinely think I did good on this part, getting into Han's internal monologue and Leia's, and putting in something that I actually kind of like; basically, that everyone has their own secrets that even Imperials can't get out of them. (In Han's case, it's that he's really not as much of a jerk as he likes everyone to think he is, and Leia's is...well, she's kind of attracted to Han, she's scared of letting the Rebellion down, etc.) And writing the "you like me because I'm a scoundrel" scene -- I know I really loved that scene back when I first watched Empire Strikes Back (what can I say? I'm a bit of a romantic at heart, and this scene is really sweet), so it was a joy to write. Although there were certain things in writing for Leia where my heart broke more than I thought it would. Just...oi. Writing for Leia's going to be pretty interesting in the future, I think. (And I didn't even plan it; it just came right out of nowhere. I suppose that's one of the joys of writing -- sometimes it can surprise you)
