Is this story in a series? Tell us about its sequels and prequels
Well, yes. Mostly going into more detail about the rise of Lord Rage (yes, I am aware how corny a name this is for one of my antagonists. I might change it later. Some writing books have told you not to do this, but me, I sort of say, stop it, I am shitty with names, give me a break here. /End Hurricane of Self-Deprecation) as well as Azra. I admit I've sort of ended up with a sort of STAR WARS meets DOCTOR WHO sort of thing, with the main Evil Overlord starting out as a nice, noble guy before...well, y'know.
And I confess that I went through kind of a Creator Breakdown while writing certain things that go on in the prequel series. Stuff like how people get so easily scared in a crisis, mostly based on stuff I heard about in the real world and how it affected me. Because...well, I will admit that this is sort of going on like "As The World Falls Down" (one of my STAR WARS fanfics). Because I am scared out of my fucking mind. And at least expressing it in fiction...well, it helps somewhat.
I've actually found the sequels slightly lighter because I get to concentrate more on stuff like camaraderie and whatnot. It's one of my favorite things to write in fiction, and writing these characters is such a joy. It at least gets me through the darkest parts of the story.
