And, poor Rush. The Left made him apologize? He needs to get over himself. No one's making do anything. He's done it to himself with his sewer mouth and sewer mind.
The Republicans are probably secretly high-fiving him. "Thanks bro, we totally agree but we can't say anything like that! Keep fighting the good fight! F*** Obama!"
Signed. My far-left feminist friends listen to right-wing talk radio frequently, and I actually caught a bit of that tirade. I missed the pejoratives, but what I did get was a lot of whining which boiled down to "Georgetown women are having too much sex!" Charming.
(Nash's criticisms of "Evolution of Daleks" aren't quite the same as mine, but he makes good points and a fun review.)
And *Jesus*, that really sucks. I'm sorry. :( (And yeah, Limbaugh's a douchebag. Enough said)
Have read your review of Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks. Does love. :) And totally agreed on poor Solomon -- it definitely should have ended a little better for him, to say the least. As well as Sec -- true, his methods of saving his people weren't exactly what you call ethical (and I appreciate Nash calling out the Doctor for working with him considering...y'know, the implications), but it really should have ended a bit better for the poor bastard.

Well, I can't take too much personal offense, as the people he's talking about like my (and his) male privilege. And I don't mind the other commentary so much - it's morbidly amusing, which I assume is why my friends listen to it.
It's been a couple years since I watched "Daleks in Manhattan"/"Evolution of the Daleks"; I think I kind of missed the Doctor's hypocrisy about what kinds of evil he will and won't tolerate (something which Chuck Sonnenburg of SF Debris also brought up in hisreviews). And personally, I wasn't complaining about the fact of Sec's or Solomon's deaths so much as that they were respectively stupid and contrived, and punishment for basically doing the right thing (although I have to agree with Sonnenburg that Solomon's speech was pretty terrible).
And all I can say is, I agree. :) At least women take birth control for things regarding their health -- men mostly take Viagra to get their groove on. So birth control should be covered more. Unfortunately, the more hardcore right-wing folk don't seem to take kindly to women. Or anyone who isn't a straight white Christian Republican male, really. :/
And it doesn't help that one group on Facebook, the Australian Tea Party, are calling Sandra Fluke a hypocrite and a slut, while engaging in the usual racism and misogyny (the whole "close your legs" crap, for instance. I don't know why, but it really offends me), Yes, because wanting help for your friend makes you a hypocrite and a whore. /sarcasm. #Had to rant. Sorry. :(
