I live in Sweden and I totally blame our christian conservative party. I think the idea was to stop a transgender person from being able to conceive a child because it would be soooo bad for the kids if the genetic and social sex of a parent didn't match. The horror. Interestingly enough my son casually mentioned the other day that one of his classmates has two mums, "but one of his mums used to be a dad but she had surgery". Yeah. Really, really confusing. ;-) A six-yo sorts it out without even thinking about it. It will stop, there's a pretty strong opinion/campaign going on here.
This is real? Seriously? In SWEDEN? I get that there's been some Nazi-minded political movements lately (mostly because of the immigration, if I've understood correctly), but this is just so out of the league! And I haven't even heard of it, even though I live in the neighboring country.
Though, how the heck did they get that law to pass (it was passed or did I miss something?)? Doesn't it violate the human rights?
