It's not that I hate or resent him, or can't see things from his POV. It's more the fact that, even with all of that, he still did it. It breaks my heart now, because he's a tragic hero who's fallen this far, and I love tragic heros. Seriously, I just finished reading Karen Miller's A Blight of Mages and the main character (who is a villain in the other books - this is a prequel) is so tragic. I burst into tears when I realised how far he'd fallen. It was like reading Anakin, and it just tugs at my heart so damn much. But I just don't ever want to believe myself capable of that.
