It was probably when I was at Disneyworld once (we were in the Star Wars section of the park; someone was actually dressed up as Vader and giving out autographs, what fun. :), and I saw a copy of the PT novelizations (in one book) in one part of the store. Let's say I was already interested in Anakin's story from what I heard, so I picked it up, gave it a read and bada-bing! Hooked! That, plus watching the Original Trilogy again and getting to appreciate the finer nuances this time around. Because honestly, aside from my brother joking about Darth Vader sounding like a Dementor from HP, I don't remember much about the last time I saw ANH. And I was unfortunately already spoiled for ESB because of the TOY STORY 2 parody of the twist at the climax (you know, "I am your father"), so that plus reading the PT novelizations first...yeah. Not exactly what you call the "ideal" way to get into STAR WARS, but...what the hell. XD

Oh...wait! I didn't mention that I knew the spoiler about Vader being Luke's father. C'mon, by the time I got around to see the saga, I just wouldn't have known that if I'd been living in Mars ;)

Hahaha... Vader sounding like a Dementor?! LOL. I don't recall hearing a Dementor speak :-S

And yeah, it's an unusual way to get started, to say the least. I'll admit I wasn't into STAR WARS back then -- between Star Trek vs. Star Wars vs. Babylon Five, I was one of those rare folken who was more into stuff like ERAGON. (Don't judge me! XD)

It was a double whammy - Visual Vader and Literary Novelizations - who could resist? It's always interesting to read anecdotes about the beginning of SW allure.

Nope, not internet spoilers. I've known Darth Vader was Luke's father since forever. The spoilers came to me from everywhere. What with "Luke, I am your father" (misquoted from "No. I am your father") being the one of the most famous movie lines? One'd have to live under a pop-culture rock not to know this. :P

Oh it's not that sad! Really! One of my best friends STILL hasn't watched any one of the films all the way through!

Harrison Ford is a bad ass! Though I question his taste in significant others (Callista Flockhart...REALLY?) I tried to "stalk" him while he was her filming Cowboys vs Aliens...yeah that didn't go well at ALL.
