Disney supposedly claims that Rose's role had to get reduced because she originally had a lot of scenes with Leia and then with Carrie's passing those scenes had to be cut - but to that I call BULLSHIT. Carrie died in 2016 and TROS came out THREE YEARS LATER. There was plenty of time to add/reshoot new material for Rose - I strongly suspect that Disney just caved to the fanbase hating her.
