Summary: Ben’s first kiss with Poe somehow goes perfectly.

“What’s wrong? Why are we stopping?”
Ben wet his lips even as Poe asked. Even as Poe looked at him quizzically. Then he said, “Poe...is it okay if I kiss you?”
They were under the Force tree. They were there, where the fireflies were all but floating around them, lighting up the night.
Poe sighed. Ben could already tell by the exhalation of breath that Poe had been waiting for this. “I’d...I’d like that. Very much, Ben.”
Ben couldn’t say it was perfect. Under the Force tree, they bumped noses, laughing all the while, Poe clinging to Ben, and how exactly did this beautiful, wonderful man know how to make Ben smile like a complete idiot? And then their lips met, and...oh. Ben could swear that his heart burst into bloom underneath the Force tree.
They broke away in that moment, after a while, Ben feeling — strangely for his height — like he was about to swoon in Poe’s arms.
“I’m gonna have to teach you,” Poe teased. “This whole kissing thing. Before I have a beautiful Jedi passed out in my arms.”
“I’m not beautiful,” Ben said, softly. “Not like you.”
Poe was beautiful. Terribly, heartbreakingly so. He was delicate-featured and curly haired, and his eyes — stars, his eyes were so very full of light. Ben doubted he had ever seen someone so kind like Poe, someone who was so very kind, so very gentle and open to everything. So very funny. So very...everything.
“You are.” Poe kissed a freckle on Ben’s face, probably because he could. “I love your moles.”
Ben crinkled his nose playfully. “Those?”
“Exactly, Ben. You’re beautiful. You’re kind. And...considering that my relationship with Zorii was weird anyway, considering even I wasn’t able to define it, I don’t really count that as a first kiss. Not really.” Then, “It’s the prelude to a first kiss. You’re my first kiss, Ben. I want you to know that.”
“I can do that.”
