Title: Crouch
Summary: What was going through Kylo’s head during That Crouch?
Prompt: Submission
Author’s Notes: Trigger warning for humiliation.
It’s kind of a detail that’s a fan-favorite with Darkpilot shippers, Kylo crouching in front of Poe. I don’t know if this is exactly what went on inside Kylo’s head when this happened, but it’s possible.
He should feel powerful, looming over Poe like that, but instead, deep inside him where he can’t reach, he instead feels sick. It’s dizzying, he thinks, this sickness that he feels inside him where no one else can see.
He shouldn’t be bothered by it. At all, actually. Just another Resistance prisoner brought to his knees. Just another man to capture.
But Poe Dameron is not “just another man”. This is his best friend, the man he loves, and he feels a certain discomfort at him being humiliated like this.
It shouldn’t matter.
But somehow, it wriggles in him like a worm, this discomfort, and he finds that he doesn’t like it. Poe’s face is practically at the level of Kylo’s groin, and Kylo finds that it doesn’t arouse any pleasure like it would if he really was the villain lusting after the dashing hero in the hero’s story. Instead, he just feels a strange, Ben Solo-esque pity for Poe.
Trust him to at least chip a piece out of Kylo’s defenses.
Kylo does what some people in the village would probably be confused by, if they saw him. (Then again, he’s erratic. Snoke has never called him consistent)
He squats down in front of Poe, and stars, that gaze — Kylo’s struck by how much durasteel there is in it, even being forced to kneel in front of Kylo. Kylo is aware that he likely looks weird squatting, far from intimidating, but Poe deserves better.
He just does. It’s selfish, but he just does. He should have stayed back, it should have been someone else who came here. Selfish, but Kylo feels it nonetheless.
Their eyes meet, and it’s there that Poe says something that, no matter how badly things go for him later, Kylo will at least appreciate.
“So, who talks first? You talk first, I talk first?”
