So, this took an unexpected turn...
Nov. 2nd, 2016 11:03 amSo I've got 3,755 words so far (also, Jesus), and it helps that I'be been doing some skipping around, actually. Got a bit of the villain's perspective on things, and though I may have to tone some stuff down in the rewrite, it was definitely interesting getting into his head. I figured I'd do that just because some of the bad guys in the Van Helsing Hate Crimes trope (e.g. some of the bad guys in the Kitty Norville books -- and granted, I could be wrong; I'll probably change my mind when I read the books) come off as kind of one-dimensional. I figured I'd give this guy a worldview and a reason for his actions. And change things up a bit.
Also, wrote my first crime scene! That one was tough, but doing some research...it's not perfect, but it's definitely giving me a bare outline for what I have to do. May have to go over stuff in revisions to make sure that my crime scene is accurate and all. Like if there was anything I missed. And wrote the beginning of my main character, Diana, waking up after being captured by the villain. Let's say things are going to get interesting.
