Because I Rewatched THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY With My Friend Recently.

Also because Desolation of Smaug is coming up, and I haven't done a genderswapped cast for The Hobbit. Will need to fix that. Mostly sticking to characters in An Unexpected Journey. Will add Desolation of Smaug when I come to it.

Emergency casting (because I forgot to cast her when I first did my LOTR cast):

Sara Kestelman as older Bilbo:

The Hobbit roles:

Jennifer Lawrence as Bilbo:

Danielle Harris as Thorin Oakenshield:

Thank you so much! I know Bombur was hard to find a good casting for, so I'm really glad you liked my casting! And I'm glad you liked my Thranduil casting as well. :D

Happy Christmas Eve, BTW!

Interesting choices! I admit that I was surprised by the casting of Jennifer Lawrence as Female!Bilbo, since Bilbo, like Frodo, has this vulnerability and naïveté to him that often masks his inner strength and heroism, and I’m used to seeing her in tougher and more aggressive roles.

Suranne Jones’s outfit alone seems to make her fit as Female!Radagast. :)

Famke Janssen as Female!Sauron just makes me think of what an awesome film franchise/book series it would be if the characters really were all gender-flipped. Of course I’m not saying that “Lord of the Rings” isn’t awesome enough as it is, but a epic fantasy series where almost every character is female, including the reluctant but steadfast heroine who’s the last person expected to undertake such a quest, her loyal and dependable best friend, her wise and powerful mentor, the wretched but pitiable outcast who’s a reflection of what she could be, the courageous and noble warrior who’s next in line to be queen, the elegant and skillful elf who at first disdains dwarves but then befriends one, the White Witch who succumbs to the darkness and raises a fearsome army, and, of course, the Big Bad herself, a Dark Lady who’s the puppet-master behind it all? AWESOME.

And how ironic that Galadriel’s actress is your choice for Female!Saruman. Although maybe it’s fitting because Galadriel herself had acknowledged that she would be tempted by the corruption of the Ring, as Saruman had been.

That would be an amazing movie.
