I definitely have to say Anakin/Padme. In fact, one of the factors that really got me interested in STAR WARS was always Anakin's story -- A/P especially. #Is a bit too much of a sucker for forbidden love.
I think Matthew Stover solidified my love for the pairing, especially with the scenes he gives them. I remember one user on TV Tropes remarked that Stover was only writing A/P because he had no choice (referring to the Anakin/Obi-Wan Ho Yay), but all I can say is...he did a spectacular job. (Seriously, you don't have to take my word for it. Look up the ROTS audiobook on iTunes sometime. :)
This is one of my personal favorite scenes between them, and that says volumes. :)

And *this* regarding the scene between them on Coruscant. I mean...damn. :(

OMG LOL.
Don't kill me, but I sort of agree with this. ^_~I'm not the biggest Anakin/Padme fan - I never really bought it in the movies. There was too much about their relationship that I just didn't like, probably starting with the "sand" line in AotC, then the way Padme just glossed over Anakin's slaughter of the Tusken Raiders... thought I will say, one of the most beautiful scenes in RotS was that scene where Padme and Anakin both look out the windows to where each other are while Padme's Ruminations plays in the background. It's a chilling, amazing scene. So if I do ever ship Anakin/Padme, in fanfic or anywhere else, it'll be because of that. And because of Stover, because Stover is amazing.
Karen Miller sort of gave me the giggles about the relationship in Wild Space, though. "More chee-chees, my darling?" *snortgigglesnort*no subject
Definite LOL at the Karen Miller quote. *Should read Wild Space sometime* Sweet Sith -- I've really been out of the EU ever since the LOTF thing, haven't I? #LOTF kind of sent me into a Heroic BSOD, especially with Luke's WTF-worthy (IMHO) behavior. Sorry. :(
And yes, Stover's made of infinite win. Seriously. :)

Agreed with you so very much, especially regarding the Padme's Ruminations scene! :D
And yeah, the movies...*Sighs* The movies had the "heart" for the romance (no pun intended), especially considering that Hayden and Natalie are really, really good actors. I think the main problem lies in the execution. (Poor Anakin. I swear somewhere, that phrase is engraved on his tombstone. #I kid, Anakin! XD)

Yeah, that was a big problem for me, too. To me, the screenplays just seemed out of order in the prequels. In my opinion, Anakin should have been a great guy when he married Padmé and *then* he should have started to fall to the Dark Side. That way, she wouldn't have looked so culpable for marrying him and she wouldn't have looked so hypocritical for being horrified that he killed the Jedi children in RotS even though she was perfectly fine with him killing Tusken children in AotC.

#Sees no reason why Lucas had Anakin slaughter Tuskens in AOTC. I mean, why there? #Confused.

Maybe George Lucas thought that it was just some foreshadowing for what was to come? Well, I hate to break it to you, Mr. Lucas, but slaughtering an entire tribe isn’t a stepping stone on the way to the Dark Side; it’s a big, flashing neon sign of having *already* become evil.
