No, I didn’t want to go back to the Reylo Nazi AU drama either. Believe me. If you want to skip the stuff under the cut, fortunately, I have fic recs that will hopefully give Jewish authors in the fandom the exposure they deserve.

( Pretty much a lot of trigger warnings here: anti-Semitism, rape threats, death threats, racism, a mention of misgendering as well as someone allowing it to happen, cyberbullying, and a reminder that social media was a bad idea. )

And as a counter-measure, I highly encourage people to read YoursTrulyCommanderShepard’s fics: she is the Jewish woman mentioned who got harassed. I would highly suggest fics like Every Little Thing (Is Going To Be All Right), which for starters actually has a good message in terms of talking about how there is someone out there who loves you despite your sexual dysfunction problems: it obviously manages to deal with small-penis-Ben while treating him with dignity, but it also manages to try and destigmatize vaginismus, which is considered a pretty taboo topic among cis women. (I think it’s been underexplored as to how trans men are affected by it) And it manages to portray bisexual Ben without shitting on his past same-sex relationship with Poe, which is definitely an achievement given that not every bi rep fic is good at it. Poe’s split with Ben is portrayed as amicable, and he’s not even demonized here. Fair warning: this fic does really briefly with Rey’s past boyfriend, Hux, being an abusive shithead. (It’s a good place to start, because honestly, I’d say it’s my favorite fic Shepard’s ever written)

And there are other authors I recommend as well; jeeno2 has one of my favorite Jyn/Cassian fics of all time, Memories Rekindled, which really is a thoughtful look at trauma as well as grief/mourning; despite the main couple being Jyn and Cassian, Galen Erso’s presence is very heavily felt here even after his untimely death, as well as the presence of Cassian’s own family (note: this was written in 2016 long before Andor came out, so be gentle). And a little bit of bias because I adore Galen and think Jyn was a lucky woman to have him as a father, but even if you don’t give a rat’s ass about Galen, it’s still a beautiful read. And it shows I think the good side of fix-it fics: they’re commonly written off as wish fulfillment/entitlement, but they’re not (all) that way. I’d say the good side of fix-it fics can be summed up for me as the idea that you’re never really alone and you’ll always find people who stand by you and help you. And finally, there’s one crossingwinter fic that I think deserves more love than it gets, namely a Rose/Jannah fic titled What She Wants. I love how crossingwinter portrayed the chemistry between Rose and Jannah, and just how fucking smitten Rose Tico is. It definitely gets Explicit later on, but I’d definitely say the focus is Rose Tico realizing how amazing Jannah is. (And, well, she’s not wrong. Jannah was one of the best parts of TROS, for me).
