First off, this video is so damn cool. Honestly. <3 *Cries knowing she has no idea what version of "Enjoy the Silence" it is* :(
 

Second off, just browsing the LOTR fandom a bit (mostly the LOTR screenshot memes, et cetera et cetera) and couldn't help but notice the really strong reaction many people had to Denethor sending Faramir to his death at Osgiliath via this exchange:
 

FARAMIR: You wish now that our places had been exchanged. That I had died and Boromir had lived.

DENETHOR: Yes...I wish that.


I'll admit I was tearing up myself -- and definitely wanted to give Faramir a hug and make him feel better. Seriously, Denethor's treatment is why Boromir and Faramir are so messed up! It's Denethor's fault, essentially, that Boromir fell at Amon Hen, especially considering that if Denethor hadn't guilt-tripped him into going to Rivendell, Boromir wouldn't have ended up there in the first place. (At the same time, though, Boromir ultimately chose to stand and fight at Amon Hen. So in that way...he really is a hero. :) And Faramir...yeah, self-explanatory.
