Part One

This is going to be hard. I mean, there are so many fictional characters I love that sorting them is going to be difficult -- but I'll try anyway:

5. Frodo Baggins -- One of my first fictional favorites. I mean, I really identified with him because we were both bookish and considered a bit odd. Plus, he's a really complex, fallible, realistic character. He's not indestructible; hell, at the climax, he nearly becomes Isildur, etc. in a way. And yet he's compassionate, funny, brave...he's just awesome. I find Frodo very underrated as a character

4. Padme Amidala -- Because she's clever, kind, brave, funny, and incredibly devoted to her principles. And selfless too. And she's very human as well.

3. The Doctor -- Where do I start? He's funny, a bit odd, brave, determined, principled, compassionate -- and yet there's that hint of darkness to him that could be messed up in other characters, but which the writers pulled off perfectly.

2. Rose Tyler -- Because she's Rose, of course! She's clever, she has a wicked sense of humor, she's incredibly kind, brave, determined, loving, loyal, fiercely protective of those she loves, and yet she has enough flaws to make her human. Plus, she's just a complete badass. I love Donna, Martha, etc., but Rose will always be My Companion.

1. Anakin Skywalker -- Because he's brave, determined, clever, witty, creative, loving, loyal, and just incredibly complex and compelling. He's been one of my favorite heroes and favorite villains, and he's influenced a heck of a lot of my writing. And like pretty much everyone on this list, he, IMHO, needs more love.
