Yeah, definitely agreed regarding the Asperger thing. I mean, Asperger's a lot more complex than "this kid's socially awkward" and whatnot.
Yeah, I think stuff like "mesa" is kind of questionable at best. Not to mention...Lucas isn't exactly a stranger to racial stereotypes. TEMPLE OF DOOM, for example, what with its stereotypes in regards to the Indian culture (okay, fine, it was technically Spielberg, but considering that Lucas worked on the films with Spielberg, he should at least be held semi-accountable). So honestly? I don't think representing those of color is really his strong point. (Sorry, just...finding patterns and whatnot) Although Short Round kicks a lot of ass, so there is that. Even if he may be loud, but then again, I've actually worked with kids before (it was in middle school for a summer job), and...yeah, they can be loud.
And yes, the subject of racism should never be shut down, ever. I don't care who that person is; if they fuck up in regards to race and what not, they should be called out on it. No one's opinion is invalid, especially when it comes to race fail or gender fail or what-have-you.
I'll admit I haven't clicked on "Haaaave You Met Ted" yet (I was too busy brain dumping), and I'm a bit confused regarding what he said regarding the Asian culture and whatnot, but...yeah.
