Definitely some good advice for me to heed, I say. :) Especially considering that my inner editor has a bit of a bad habit of going, "Hey, you forgot this and that and such and such and that and such!" Sometimes, it can be useful, such as pulling out a pretty useful character trait, but most of the time, it's like, "Stop helping me!"

I will admit in my lurker days, it was even worse. Especially when I was, say, writing for the LOTR fandom. Seriously, if you look up "pedantic" in the dictionary, you'd see the more hardcore of the LOTR fandom -- at least, the ones that felt the need to flaming newbie writers for not writing "their" stories. Fanfiction.net was definitely a breeding ground for that sort of stupidity. I mean, you have no idea.
