I live in Sweden and I totally blame our christian conservative party. I think the idea was to stop a transgender person from being able to conceive a child because it would be soooo bad for the kids if the genetic and social sex of a parent didn't match.
The horror.
Interestingly enough my son casually mentioned the other day that one of his classmates has two mums, "but one of his mums used to be a dad but she had surgery". Yeah. Really, really confusing. ;-) A six-yo sorts it out without even thinking about it.
It will stop, there's a pretty strong opinion/campaign going on here.
