WHY IS OBI-WAN EVIL? *bawls*

What I so totally don't write him as becoming the tyrannical Chancellor of the Republic who is one of Leia's biggest political influences why are you looking at me like that I resent your accusations honestly. *shifty eyes*

I have no clue. I've racked my brain trying to come up with an explanation -- let's say my thought processes at the time were...kind of along the lines of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hW7oZaagJS8. Seriously, the real Obi-Wan would never pull shit like this. Yes, he did manipulate Luke -- but I think he saw it more as a Shoot The Dog/I Did What I Had To Do moment. *Huggles Obi-Wan tightly* #End rambling.

And now I suddenly have the urge to read JEDI MASTER GALACTIC TYRANT. Seriously. Because evil Chancellor Obi-Wan sounds unbelievably awesome. :)

*Hugs back* I'm kind of like Anakin too. Reckless, impulsive, kind of over-emotional at times -- with a bit of Obi-Wan in me as well. Hell, I think I lean towards the Obi-Wan side of the spectrum, even though I really sympathize with Anakin. Does that make sense? :)

I don't believe he manipulated Luke. I actually do see it as an I Did What I Had To Do moment. It's my head!canon that Obi-Wan never forgave himself for not killing Anakin/putting him out of his pain and misery, and convinced himself that what he was doing was right. *sniffle* Poor, poor Obi-Wan. *Hugs him tightly as well*

Teehee. :D Well, it's only at 6 chapters and OCs to feature prominently (thought they're mostly villains, mwhahaha). I'm having an awful lot of fun writing it.

Of course it makes sense! It's like me, but in reverse. I'm more Anakin than I am Obi-Wan, but I sympathise with Obi-Wan. I think maybe it's the whole "opposites attract" thing, or something... ^_~

I seriously can't hate or resent him even then. I don't need any effort to look at from his point of view - also, I don't think he looks emotionless when he ignites his lightsaber to kill the younglings. The conflict is palpable, and I can see a dissociative episode very, very clearly.

It's not that I hate or resent him, or can't see things from his POV. It's more the fact that, even with all of that, he still did it. It breaks my heart now, because he's a tragic hero who's fallen this far, and I love tragic heros. Seriously, I just finished reading Karen Miller's A Blight of Mages and the main character (who is a villain in the other books - this is a prequel) is so tragic. I burst into tears when I realised how far he'd fallen. It was like reading Anakin, and it just tugs at my heart so damn much. But I just don't ever want to believe myself capable of that.
