From frostbit-sky. :)
What do you think your strengths as a writer are? What do you think your weaknesses are? What areas would you most like to improve?
In terms of strengths, I'm pretty good with characterization, and coming up with new ideas. I'm also very good with humor, emotion, villains, etc.
In terms of weaknesses, well...I think I keep using the writing equivalent of Verbal Tics. Stuff like "even now", etc (although I'm trying to break that habit). Also, speeches, Senate scenes, and space battles (the three S'es, if you will). Holy *fuck* am I struggling with these. Also, getting the original flavor, so to speak, of the show/book/whatever. I really envy people who can do that.
And in terms of things I'm struggling with...well, I'd definitely like to learn more about setting description. Also, a bit of plot. And maybe the matter of research, and creating nightmarish elements. Hell, even with the areas I'm pretty good at, I still kind of want to learn more. Want to keep them sharp, really. :)
