I did, and it was amazing! I loved it!

Beauty and the -- SPOILERS! )

So overall? Go watch it! Seriously, it's amazing.
ladyofleithian: (Default)
...and it was...something, it really was.

Warning for discussion of triggering content involving child abuse. )

So, overall...it was all right, I guess. My opinion might change on this, might not, but in the meantime...eh. It was all right.
ladyofleithian: (Default)
...and it got off to a rough start at first, but in the end, it was really good.

A long time ago in a galaxy far far a -- SPOILERS! )

So overall? I say go see it. It gets a bit rough after the beginning, but gets spectacular by the end.
ladyofleithian: (Default)
And it was decent enough. I liked it.

Newt Scamander and the Dozens of Spoilers. (That wasn't a very witty cut title, sorry) )

So overall? Pretty good movie. I recommend it.
ladyofleithian: (Long since I had hope...)
Had the same friend I mentioned in my Star Trek VI review over. We had fun. We talked TFA (which was cool), and watched some Danger Committee stuff (it's a juggling show, very funny) and MST3K, which was awesome. And later on discussed bad movie stereotypes (usually the types that showed up in every bad movie, e.g. the jerk, etc.).

The downside was that we watched Star Trek: Nemesis, as Insurrection was misplaced for the moment. How was it? Well, I'll talk about it more under the cut.

Warning for triggering content involving rape. )

So overall? Skip it. Maybe go and find some fan edits of Nemesis instead. Maybe some will disagree with me about certain points I raised in my post, but that's really my take on things.
ladyofleithian: (Default)
...and it was a great movie!

To boldly go where no one has gone be -- SPOILERS! )

So overall? Awesome movie. Definitely recommended.
ladyofleithian: (Default)
...and this is going to sound crazy, and justifiably so, but honestly? It was better than I thought it was going to be.

To boldly go where no one has gone be -- SPOILERS! )

So, honestly? It does have its share of problems, but it really isn't as bad as I thought it would be.

So yesterday was a good day. Invited a friend over, we hung out, talked, watched Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (let's just say my talk with him about it, and his dad talking about it, fueled his curiosity). Let's say we had a great time riffing on it, and his reactions were pretty much gold. Seriously, gold. (He pretty much thought the same thing as I did -- not an abomination, but not great either. And he liked Sybok well enough, as did I)

We watched The Undiscovered Country afterwards; we had to pause briefly because there was a storm outside and my friend got nervous about it, but fortunately, the storm cleared up later on. It was a movie that I was already intending to watch, but never quite finished before. But I did yesterday -- and I should apologize for not completing it yesterday; let's say I was pretty tired, worried about school, etc. But like I said, I finished it yesterday. How was it? Well, it started off rough but got really good by the end.

To boldly go where no man has gone be -- SPOILERS! )

So overall? I recommend it. It's not my favorite Nicholas Meyer Star Trek film (that would be Wrath of Khan ) but it's still really good.
ladyofleithian: (Default)
...and it was pretty decent.

To boldly go where no one has gone be -- SPOILERS! )

So overall? It's an enjoyable movie; I recommend you give it a watch. I think I would mostly flesh out the villain some more/make him make sense, but by and large, it's pretty enjoyable. It's a good watch.
ladyofleithian: (Default)
Hey. Mostly getting back to catching up on my Star Trek stuff as I'm preparing on seeing BEYOND at one point. (Thinking of going with a friend) I decided to start by catching up on the movies -- trying THE FINAL FRONTIER first. (Insert cries of "Why, why would you do that to yourself" here)

How was it? Well, it was a pretty interesting experience. I have a lot to talk about. Also, a warning beforehand, besides discussing spoilers, I may also be touching on some content that's rather triggering/disturbing later on. So, be careful.

To boldly go where no man has gone be -- SPOILERS! )

And that's my take on The Final Frontier. Should get to Undiscovered Country soon enough. And Beyond -- mostly have to schedule a good date to see it, but I definitely expect to enjoy it when I see it.
ladyofleithian: (Default)
...and it was excellent! Really cute! Loved it.

Just keep swimming, just keep -- spoilers! )

So overall? Go see it; it's wonderful! Definitely recommended.
ladyofleithian: (Default)
It was okay.

It's the bare necessities of -- spoilers! )

So overall? Definitely give it a go. Mostly for Elba and the others, Mowgli being a badass, and the awesome score. And the great ending.
ladyofleithian: (Default)
...and well...wow. Really good movie, but really fucking intense and disturbing.

Warning for spoilers and possible gory discussion. )

So overall? It's definitely worth a view. Fair warning, though -- it's pretty depressing.
ladyofleithian: (Default)
...and it was good! Really good, actually. I enjoyed it.

A long time ago in a galaxy far far a -- spoilers! )

So overall? Go see it! Trust me, it's amazing.
ladyofleithian: (Default)
...and it was wonderful! I loved it!

Warning for possible spoilers )

So overall? Go see this movie. It deserves all the praise it gets and more, and you will not regret it.
ladyofleithian: (Default)
First off, happy Father's Day to everyone on my f-list (and their dads)! Also, sorry if I haven't been updating lately; I've been caught up. (Having tutoring, etc. doesn't help either)

Also had my brother's graduation (and had one of those "when did he grow up so fast" moments, I do admit), which went fine except for that storm that hit and trapped us inside his school for quite a while until we finally decided to just get out to the car and get home. That was scary. *Sighs* I'm just hoping that the weather doesn't get as violent for the rest of the summer (yeah, I know, knowing summer, unrealistic expectations).

Also went with my dad to see the movie Inside Out (Pixar). How was it? Pretty damn awesome.

Something clever here, SPOILERS! )

So overall? Go see it! It is awesome.
ladyofleithian: (Default)
...and it was pretty good! Really liked it.

Spoilers beyond this point. )

So overall? Really fun movie. Definitely recommended.
ladyofleithian: (Default)
First off, just want to say "Happy Easter!" to everyone on my f-list. Hope you're having a good one. And now, onto the movie.

Something witty here, SPOILERS! )

So I recommend seeing it. There's some stuff in there that would make physics accuse it of cheating, but overall, it's a pretty good movie.
ladyofleithian: (Long since I had hope...)
Was originally planning to go over Christmas break, but my mom didn't want to be in a really crowded theater over the holidays (apparently the Christmas season is where things get pretty crowded. So I've been told). We went today, and I guess it's strange in the sense that first time I saw AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY, it was in January. Then I saw DESOLATION OF SMAUG in December, and now it's back to January. Kind of like book-ends, almost.

So what did I think? I liked it. I really did. I thought it was a great wrap-up to the Hobbit trilogy, and a great wrap-up to the Lord of the Rings films as a whole.

Possible spoiler warning ahead. )

So overall? Wonderful movie. Definitely recommend.
ladyofleithian: (rose tyler the stolen earth: happy)
And...mother of God does it live up to the hype. Seriously. What a wonderful, fun, absolutely goddamn enjoyable summer movie.

"I'm hooked on a -- SPOILERS!" )
So overall? Loved it. It definitely deserves being top at the box office right now, and all the great reviews it's gotten. Hell, I'd say it's the best movie of the summer so far! Go and see it; it's awesome.
