21. Look back. Why did you choose this challenge? Do you think it says anything about you?

Warning for social justice-y stuff and other things that probably aren't going to make me any friends. )

Rest of questions. )
ladyofleithian: (fantastic!)
...and it was amazing! Seriously, loved it. :)

Adventures in time and -- spoilers! )
Overall? Loved it. Definitely recommend. :)

...and it's really disheartening to say it, but it was pretty disappointing.

A long time ago in a galaxy far far a -- spoilers! )

So yeah... *Sighs* I wanted to like this episode. It has some good ideas in it, but the execution...well, it's wanting, really. I can only pray that the next episode is better. And that Satine gets out of this mess. I had really high hopes for the episode, and it was kind of disheartening to see them dashed like that. I can only pray it was a minor misstep, and the next episode is better.

And guys? Please don't kill me.
ladyofleithian: (mood: disappointed)
...and I'll admit, it was kind of disappointing.

Warning for potentially triggering content )

So yeah...it had a few good parts, and I wanted to like it, but it really disappointed me. I can only hope the next episode's better, and this was just a weak link in the arc. If you guys liked it, good on you (really, I mean it). It just didn't work for me.

And guys? Please don't kill me.
ladyofleithian: (mood: creative)
Trailer here.

Just want to say that it looks absolutely amazing. Seriously.

Thoughts under cut. )

And that's pretty much it. It's not really the final word on the trailer or anything, mostly speculation. And I could be wrong. Hope you didn't really mind the ramblings.

Thoughts?
ladyofleithian: (Default)
Got 33,921 words down. *Sighs in relief* Also got to get into Obi-Wan's mindset a little more, especially in terms of the talk with Palpatine at the opera. I think Obi-Wan's curiosity about Plagueis, at least for the time being, is less "keep Sabe from dying" (although that factors in as well) and more "save the galaxy". Not to mention his grief about Ahsoka. I guess it's sort of a bit of a grief thing, which the Jedi...well, they don't really deal with. They mostly have it along the lines of "Rejoice for those who transform into the Force". Which I guess is all well and good, but it's honestly not as easy as that. Grief's pretty complicated. I'll admit, I'm not certain why the issue of grief is starting to repeat itself throughout this NaNo, but I guess I can call it a bit of...well, me having a bit of an uneasy year. Some moments are absolutely excellent, and some moments...some moments are kind of things that I wish didn't happen. Still, I suppose it's not like I have any control over it. Best I can do, really, is meet it the best I can.

Also, need to get Padme back into the picture. And Ventress and Vader. *Shifts in slight embarrassment* I guess NaNo does give you permission to fuck up, but still...it's kind of annoying, I'll admit. The matter of plot threads and whatnot.

Also, thanks to the lingering...whatnot, for lack of a better word, in my mind, I'm probably going to post something sometime about what I'd like to see in the Sequel Trilogy (as I'm going to call it, because honestly? That's what it is). At least I can meet the future with some degree of preparedness. It's going to be upstaged later, but still...*Shrugs*

Also, had another nightmare. Mostly about some sort of...mummy-clown thing with a lot of issues doing a Heel Face Turn thanks to...I guess the Power of Love, but I don't know. And Phelous was doing a movie review about it. Probably one of my better dreams, but it was still pretty scary. Least in places.

While the guy in question makes some good points, there are a few things that bothered me. Or at least, things I want to talk about.

Cut for rambling/ranting/occasional playing of devil's advocate. )

And those are my thoughts. I apologize if I inadvertently offended anyone, anywhere, but I had to rant. I don't really hold many of these opinions (except the Order. They bug me), but really? Everyone's opinion is valid in some way or another. I wish more people realized it.

Thoughts? Comments? Objections? I'd love to hear them. :)

Got 8,439 words down. *Rubs wrists* Fucking ow...

Warning: Rambling (and occasional ranting) under cut. )

Mostly inspired by a conversation with darth_eldritch last night, but I felt this needed to be said. Let's say that lately (although, honestly, it's been around for such a long while that I have no idea why the fuck I'm surprised to start seeing this now), the whole idea of the sympathetic villain has come under fire. Some people (none of you, really, just in general) have started calling it "wimpy" and "wussy" and started accusing them of being "huggable" and "cuddly" and not menacing. While they may have some valid points, I personally don't agree.

Warning for possible soapboxing. Also, please excuse any lack of coherence between thoughts; I couldn't sleep last night. )

So that's mostly my thoughts on sympathetic villains. Granted, YMMV, and I could be wrong, but that's my thoughts on the matter.

Thoughts? Comments? Hatemail? I'm interested. :)

Because I thought this was pretty awesome.

Also, on another note, managed to get around to watching "Front Runners" in Clone Wars.

.
So yeah -- can't really wait for the next episode in regards to how the invasion turns out. Feel free to tell me if you feel that I missed something about the episode, etc.

In which Acheron attacks the Temple, and Bail Organa decides to get the hell out of dodge just so he can actually do something about the invasion.

Disclaimer: Not mine, never will be.

Author's Notes: Included a bit of a reference to the whole "Deception" arc in The Clone Wars -- another thing that, on further thought, really bugs me. Because true, Obi-Wan's lied (in a sense) in the Original Trilogy, but it's not the Original Trilogy yet, and you would think, at least from one standpoint, that Obi-Wan would be a little more upset about having to deceive Anakin. I mean, look at his reaction in Revenge of the Sith when he has to go after Anakin, not to mention...well, a lot of what he goes through in Revenge of the Sith in regards to Anakin. Because Anakin's not just his Padawan; he's like a brother to Obi-Wan, and I don't think Obi-Wan would be able to throw that away that easily. I haven't really gotten to "Crisis on Naboo" yet (so I'll have to see how it all pans out in the end), but from what I saw in "Deception/Friends and Enemies/The Box" -- yeah, I don't think it was one of the Clone Wars' finest hours, really. I just hope they don't repeat that in Season Five.

But anyway, enough rambling/ranting (and I do apologize if I inadvertently offended anyone; it just bugged me) -- I hope you enjoy this chapter at any rate!

There was no time to waste. )

In which Anakin goes off to face Grievous.

Disclaimer: I own nothing.

Author's Notes: Hope this chapter doesn't come off too rushed. Also, I'll admit, sending Anakin to face Grievous was more out of a minor irritation from the movies on my part -- okay, true, Anakin's close to the Chancellor, but there's the problem -- putting Anakin in such a difficult position. My Anakin bias aside, if there's one thing that Anakin can't do, it's betray a friend (even if said friend is actually a scumbag in disguise). I think in a way, putting him in such a difficult position -- it didn't solely cause him to fall, but it sure as hell accelerated it.

Honestly, I think it would have made a lot more sense if they had someone spy on Palpatine that wasn't as attached to the Chancellor. True, it wouldn't have been convincing, but I think it would have saved them a lot of grief. Or at the very least, tried to spy on Palpatine themselves instead of having the Chosen One do the dirty work for them. (God, now that I think about it, the Council really does suffer from "stupid for the plot to proceed", doesn't it? I mean, seriously a lot!) YMMV, of course, but...It Just Bugs Me.

Anyway...on with the show.
